Rimmer in the Echo has been uncharacteristically dismissive of a player we've hinted we'll sign. 'Valencia lacks any real quality in the final third... Everton can - and will - do better than the West Ham man, so they should say thanks but no thanks and wave their goodbyes.'
I have to agree. His pace and endevour has made a clear difference from the bench in certain games but he lacks the quality that would justify the £12 million fee.
I expect we'll sign him in early July.

^^^ that pic has convinced me he is 100% staying, said all along Koeman plays him far too much and wouldn't do so if he didn't see something in him.
As with everything transfers wise things change and nothing is ever certain,i just got a feeling for the squad he is ours

BIN

I mean in general...

And stats mean nothing. Welbeck got an assist yesterday for example.

I wouldn't be expecting too much of a memorable summer if this turned out to be the level of player that Everton settled for.

I like Valencia. He's not brilliant, but he gives us something different. He's exactly the type of player that would be useful in the Europa or League Cup when fixtures are tight.

If the price is right, get him in.

Still a bit baffled by the loan, though. It's like Chelsea loaning Mirallas off us. Strange to see loans from lower to higher-placed sides.

If Rom stays, IF we get quality competition/back up striker, wouldn't mind him as third choice. Hopefully we get more attacking mids, wide players also. Then he wouldn't have to play out wide so much. Unfortunately 12 million ain't a lot now.

...interesting point about 'upward loans', never really thought of that before. I suppose they are understandable if a team is short in a particular position.

..nah, the price tag is still attached to the shorts. That means it was borrowed for the lap of appreciation and will be back in the shop now.
