Valencia hasn't really done anything of note since his performances in the 2014 world cup with Ecuador along with jefferson montero.

He would be a decent player for a lower placed Prem side but he isn't good enough for a side challenging for Europe (or aspiring to). He doesn't score enough goals or make enough of an impact.

I've got to question the amount of people who are suggesting DCL is a better option than him though. Based on what? A couple of decent cameos in the first team this season?

Truth is neither are good enough to be our main back up striker. DCL may well prove to be in time but we absolutely must sign a striker good enough to come in and perform in place of rom when required.

Don't understand the hate he brings more space for Ron, has a great engine on him and header as well. Just not as clinical as lukaku and something else I guess is not perfect with him but I can't complain if we buy him for less than 10 mil

Just noticed he would have had a tap in if selfish lulaku had laid him off in the build up to the 2nd goal.

He's really been given a rough ride by Koeman - started just 3 league games all year. I still maintain that he's a half decent player, links us well enough with Lukaku, and even if his Everton days are numbered I hope for his sake that he gets a couple more opportunities before the end of the season.
