its an interesting point.
at what point does an immigrant become a national ?
regardless of parentage , i think if your born in a country and live i that country , then that makes you a national.
take our arteta , he is spanish but could soon play for england.
he is not english and will never be english.
but if he has a son , who is born here , raised here and lives here the that kid will be english imo and not spanish wther he likes it or not.
ive got friends who class themselves as irish , despite the fact they have lived in england for 3 or 4 generations and never stepped foot in ireland. this sort of [Poor language removed] grinds my gears.i dont around saying "no im not english ' im a norman or a viking.
but Artetas child would be entitled to a Spanish passport and would therefore be classed as being Spanish would he not ?

Depends if he was born in Alderhey and with a tash and perm - then he would qualify for a Scouse passport.
