Not a bad position for Koeman to jump in, should have plenty of money to replace them if required but already has ready made replacements desperate to make the step up to the first team.

Hibbo = Connolly, Pennington, Kenny (been a long time preferred choice of mine)
Osman = Tarashaj, Ledson, Davies (Wouldn't consider Osman a wide option in the squad so a more central player would be ideal to replace him)
Pienaar = Dowell

Fair bit wiped off the wage budget aswell which is never a bad thing.

not sure about that tbh mate. You would like to think he's probably earned about 15m more than he could ever have dreamed of but you never know how these things work out.

we've definitely given him enough money given his limited talent. We've probably paid a heck of a lot on surgeries for his injuries here over the years as well.

Absolute joke keeping Gibson and releasing the others. All or nothing. Gibson isn't a great role model, has never been fit enough to warrant a wage and could easily be replaced on the bench by a purchase or a youth player. He literally has no plus points. And before anyone comes back with the "ooooh he can pass" statements that's very much outweighed by his gut and his other negatives. Clear out the Manc rejects and make a statement that were no longer looking for cast offs and crocks.

This, really. We have rewarded the least deserving one with a new deal, its madness.

....I suspect Osman and Hibbert have been talking to the club for a while. It might actually be the preference of both to move on to a new challenge rather than get little or no playing time. Both will be very wealthy men but one final pay day and perhaps coaching roles might also be an attraction.

Wasn't he also done for drink-driving which in any other job would be a dismissal?

Defenders at Premier League level are supposed to defend well, I don't think Hibbert ever defended anywhere near Premier League level. He was quite rightly slaughtered for being awful for years until it became a running joke about how bad he was and he became this cult/joke figure. Osman admittedly had a few moments. The Larissa goal, some showings in 04/05 and the Man City goal a few years back spring to mind but certainly nothing to justify keeping him this long.
Unfair. Hibbert could defend. Offensively not good but a good fullback in the traditional sense.
