Of course he is! He worked for Wyness and he obviously was brought in to continue the pursuit of Kirkby! BK wasn't about to hire someone who wasn't going to pursue his interests!

Nail on head.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

i dont know , i like elstone and he has a good reputation.
he seems more on the level than wyness.

i think in all honesty any ceo that comes in and says kirkby is the best option is gonna get stick wether there right or not.

It really does not matter who the CEO is, in this case it is the message that is important. Whilst to redo GP is what many would prefer no one has yet stated under the current circumstances where EFC could get 250 Mill+ from to achieve that. It matters not one hoot about plans, plans do not get stadiums rebuilt money does.

Unfortunately DK is realistically the only viable or I should say affordable option on the table at the moment.

Exactly, and thats just what the board were pointing out last night. Kirkby is the cheapest option for a new stadium. If goodison were in a huge field with plenty of room either side the cost would not be so high, but its right smack bang in a community, its obvious the cost is going to be tremendous to rebuild it let alone play there while the rebuild is taking place.

I really cant see what anyone expected the board to come out and say differently last night. If we dont have the money its as simple as that, what we gonna do about it.

First off, no one explains why it'll be £230M to redevelop. Second, the view that we can't get the cash to do it is based on the belief we cant get a buyer for the club that'll shoulder the redevelopment or another new build in Liverpool. Kenwright and Elstone only know that they cant do it.

Bill Kenwright said last night that he doesn't want to shift, but he'll be the man who takes Everton to Kirkby. He also stated he's looking to get a buyer for the club. The question should be then, if he doesn't want to commit Everton to an uncertain future outside the city, then - if he loves the club so much - why not give the man he has now employed, Keith Harris, the time to see if he can come up with new owners/investors who might have an alternative vision and the means to carry it through?

You are back to the same question, what comes first the cart or horse. Do you really think some very rich guy would buy EFC as it stands?

I've mentioned before, if the buyers are mega rich and want to spend the 200mill on developing GP, they will. But if they're just rich and cant afford it ala Gillet and Hicks for eg, they'll carry on the Kirkby.

Speculation. The owners who took control of Portsmouth, did they wait for a stadium to be built before buying that club?

Thats exactly right mate, if some billionaire does come along and say yeah we're moving to a new stadium, he's gonna take the cheapest option available and move to kirkby. If Kenwright a blue is prepared to move us there, then a billionaire with no affinity for Everton is certainly gonna have no hesitancy in moving us there.

Can you honestly not see how redeveloping goodison is gonna be tricky to say the least, and with tricky comes a tricky price too. I appreciate where your coming from and in an ideal world where money wasnt a problem I'd rather rebuild on the goodison footprint, but it just doesnt look possible to put a world class stadium there without it costing us more than we could ever hope to find.

I can appreciate a site like Goodison would be a different type of challenge than a new build. Here's my point though, I'm not saying it definitely wont be £230M...£100M over and above what Tescodome is reputedly costing. What I'm asking is why there is no breakdown of cost in that figure? What are they afraid of if they think this is something that shoots down in flames the Goodison option? Could it be that the experts employed by Everton to come up with that evaluation of £230M are the team who would be responsible for Tescodome and that a conflict of interests might be pushing them toward overestimation?

I say again. £230M? Fair enough. Let Elstone furnish us all with the details of that.
