The thing is people at the EGM are shareholders. They should be entitled to _specific_ figures, not just throwaway numbers like "230 million". It's all and well to not care to tell them to your customers, but shareholders should be entitled to them.

let me guess , those of you still moaning are against kirkby are you not ?........... pathetic !

get real , listen to whats being said and stop being so bloody blinkered.

also elstone , a new hate figure ? why ? becouse he isnt saying "no to kirkby " ?....trust me this fella seems 100 % better than the last condiscending fat [Poor language removed] we had as ceo.

its time to move forward ..together !

ps , the only complaint i still have is concerning the transport issue.

Okay let's say the OS figures are wrong and it's 130 mill, now where is EFC going to get that money.

Can you not see EFC does not have this kind of money.

even with that low estimate , we would still have almost a 50 million shortfall of what we could afford to spend on kirkby.(and that price includes the sale of goodison ,bellefeild and naming rights- which we would lose if we stayed at goodison)

it cannot be done , unless .......a. we get a rich owner , or b.the club take on a crippling amount of debt.

Why couldn't we get naming rights at Goodison? Elstone says we would, but not as much as at Kirkby...thiough how he knows that it would be less when he hasn't looked into it I dont know). And why wouldn't we get the money off Bellefield if we stayed at Goodison? And why couldn't we get an enabling partner at Goodison such as a hotel to help with costs?

Dont just accept what Elstone says because he has a powerpoint projector. He's there to peddle Tesco's project not other rval schemes.

.

well getting a retail or hotal partner would be hard for 2 reasons .
1. theres no room for hotels etc. and 2. liverpool city council have agreements with other retail developments, i think im right in saying they wouldnt allow more developments of the scale we want , as there would be ojections (im not to clear on this subject , but im sure someone on here can enlighten me on the restraints on new retail development in liverpool, ---- im also sure there was a similar issue with the loop option)

another point , granted we would get the same amount of money for bellefeild.but the sale of goodison is a major bulk of our stadium kitty.

naming rights .....im not sure we would get much for a goodison redevelopment than we would for the naming rights of a brand spanking new stadium.

also surely the name would still be ....goodison park.....i hope so anyway.

well if i win the 92 million on the lottery tonight i promise it will stay with the name.....goodison park.(y)

I'd rather watch the game with a pole and let the guys spend 230M on players, to be honest.

I'd rather take wind and rain on my head and watch a great side of footballers than going to a fancy new stadium and watch us getting relegated.

What rival schemes ?

Oh you mean other peoples attempts to peddle projects with Powerpoint Projectors.

If the mega rich arab or rusky was on the cards it would have happened by now !

That leaves only 2 options that are viable based on the affordability:--

Kirkby

or

Groundshare

I Know which one I prefer.

Elstone came across very well in his presentation - and its a complete disgrace that Kenwright feels he has to "apologise" for not having enough cash to bow to his critics.

Think back a bit - not too long ago to the [Poor language removed] that Johnson delivered and left us in !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone who thinks they are all sat up in the boardroom playing tiddly winks and comparing their personal bank balances need to wake up and return to this planet.

(y) brilliant post and in my opinion spot on

Feel a bit for BK after all in buying the shares Johnson took him to the cleaners.

As for the stadium just wish we had been able to have Wally Hall Park, would have been great but just my personal opinion.

Well said Billy. Some very good and accurate points there.

I'm not a shareholder, wasn't at the EGM, but I've seen his performance on the OS video. It was an embarrassment. He was getting laughed at over the transport plan.

It lacked detail and rigour. A typical 'lets baffle the proles with a song and dance slide show' exercise. He failed to explain why Kirkby was the deal of the century, and he underestimated the rising costs. He then set up a straw man in terms of figures required to make Goodison a viable proposition (no details required, apparently), and simply stated the viability of staying in Liverpool has been disproved by LFC's dismissal of various sites around ther city...as if those [Poor language removed] ever considered anything seriously after Stanley park was gieven to them on a plate!!

Worst of all, everything was projected on the basis of the present ownership of the club...despite being told that Kenwright is now hiring Seymour Pierce's CEO to hunt for new owners!!

Must do better, Mr Elstone.
