For a very bright man who is good at marketing it is quite amazing Musk has squandered a lot of the goodwill/positive pr of providing Starlink (which tbf was a risky business decision) to Ukraine on a “peace plan” that looked like Putin had written it on a napkin.

Putin wouldn't let UN preside over a referendum of the annexed regions.

His Kremlin have unofficially employed some low-rank sorts who championed the referendums as 'fair', but Elon is proposing a fully transparent UN-managed referendum.

It's not a bad proposal.

It's very clear that he's a marketing genius. For the rest, not so much.
