And when you sign up to the EU you sign up to an agreement that you cede some of your sovereignty in return for decision making as a whole of something greater. Those people are elected though. Unlike Musk.

The US has 250 years of success as a political entity. Americans still feel American. Europeans don't yet feel European, or at least it's not yet a proven identity. Musk has a expiration date of sometime in 2026. That's when he leaves his current position. If only EU officials would limit their own terms in office for 12-18 months.

The British public did not like ceding sovereignty. That's why we left. It's why others may also leave.

And, how does it actually address the point about elected representation?

The UK didn't cede sovereignty, we retained most of our sovereignty as a member of the EU but gained decision making authority over the decision making of a Union of States.

Anyway, I'll ask again, why does Musk, as an unelected official, have such power over US domestic and foreign policy? And how do you replace him?
