Musk's power runs directly through Trump, an elected President. Musk ultimately is powerless in the US government without Trump's approval.

I should note that Trump is not only an elected President but one who explicitly ran on radical reform. It was also known during the campaign that Musk would have a role in the administration. You may agree with Trump or you may not. However, he shouted from the rooftops that he was going to be introduced radical reform this term if elected. That's what the voters voted on.

True, but it's then up to investigative reporter's to get their teeth into this. Enough Republicans and various other parties on the right will also have their snouts in the trough. Corruption is never limited to one party or one ideology.

When you elect a President & VP you elect them to also staff their administration with thousands of unelected people. Not sure why you are singling out Elon Musk here. If you are unhappy at Musk's performance you can vote the administration out in 2028.
