Approximately 250,000 teenage girls have been raped by Muslim grooming gangs over a span of 25 years. This has been bought up by Malcolm Pearson MP in Parliament.

Requests for inquests by various councils - most notably Oldham, were turned down by Safeguarding Minister Jess Phillips MP (Birmingham Yardley) as well as Angela Rayner and Jim McMahon.

The 250,000 figure appears to solely come from Pearson who says himself that he extrapolated it. I don’t think made up figures from an Islamophobe count as evidence or help at all in the discourse around what is an extremely serious issue.

I’m also unaware of Phillips, Rayner or McMahon turning down requests for inquiries from other councils. Had a quick look and couldn’t see anything. Maybe you can share some links for them?

You cannot in good faith extrapolate a nationwide figure based on results of three reports. That’s just not how it works. Nowhere else is reporting 250,000 cases over 25 years but you claimed it was evidence. It’s just not.

It's not me that extrapolated the data, it's a Lord Pearson. Sarah Champion, MP of Rotherham put the number at 1 million. Should we use that number instead.
