Think I shared that article when it was written. Cadwalladr seems to be one of few journalists who actually do their job.These tech billionaires believe that the world is theirs to reshape. It is clear that they see democratic principles as obstacles. The technological control and information dominance, they hold is seeing them position themselves as arbiters of humanity's next stage. This is why the likes of Musk have expressed support for polarising political figures or movements, such as Trump, Farage, and the AfD, and his calls and engagement with autocrats like Putin. They want centralised power over democratic checks and balances. We, democratic societies have so far failed to deal with this and now have the tech bros on one side and the autocrats on the other.
This was a decent piece, though somewhat troubling.
