Current Affairs Elon Musk

The only reason I can think he wants Tommy Robinson released is because he hates Muslims. I cannot think of another reason why Robinson would be on his radar or why he would care.
I would suggest he doesn't care one iota about Tommy Robinson. He is just the latest in a long line of multi billionaires trying to instigate culture wars in order to keep the masses from turning on them

Why did he start hating Kier Starmer? What prompted it? I missed the start.

Not that I blame him, just curious because he's putting some shift in against him.

I think it's because Musk doesn't want any sort of Left, Centrist or even Centre-Right governments that believes in concepts like regulation and taxation, anywhere. It's a weird moment in history when it seems like any old grifters can get into power anywhere, and he wants to use whatever influence he has (money, social media coverage) to promote the sort of Extremist Right Libertarian-tinged nutters into power where they can basically just slash away anything that he doesn't like.

I don't know whether it's just a sad attempt to turn personal billions into trillions, or whether there's a nefariously ulterior motive to take increasing direct control of parts of the world (by replacing Government functions across the world with his own services), it's pretty unprecedented to have a single person with this combination of personal wealth, exposure, and a weird base of fanboys cheering on his every move.

I'd just be happier if his gurning mug wasn't plastered across the new pages daily. Unbelieveable he can't think of anything better to do with his time than this.

I think it started with the riots—that’s when Elon began openly criticising Starmer and tweeting his support for Tommy Robinson etc, he is now claiming the PM failed to tackle the grooming scandal when he was head of prosecution service and to be quite frank I can’t argue with him on that point at all.

I just believe Elon’s motives are highly self-serving, with his ultimate goal being to promote parties that will benefit him economically. His support for the AfD is disgusting and seriously dangerous.

Funnily enough the whole reason why Farage defected from UKIP in 2018 was because 'Batten seems to be obsessed with Islam and ex-English Defence League leader Tommy Robinson' I wonder if Farages POV has changed now that he's backed by the richest man in the world?

These tech billionaires believe that the world is theirs to reshape. It is clear that they see democratic principles as obstacles. The technological control and information dominance, they hold is seeing them position themselves as arbiters of humanity's next stage. This is why the likes of Musk have expressed support for polarising political figures or movements, such as Trump, Farage, and the AfD, and his calls and engagement with autocrats like Putin. They want centralised power over democratic checks and balances. We, democratic societies have so far failed to deal with this and now have the tech bros on one side and the autocrats on the other.

This was a decent piece, though somewhat troubling.

Wow, just unblocked the melt to look at his posts, unhinged nonense. He's even retweeting Joey Barton FFS.

Clearly attempting to goad the government into a response

Right wing economic Libertarianism is fundamentally a flawed economic concept because the lack of compassion involved does much more harm than good

The free-market dream in the UK was shattered by Truss's actions, and a similar fate could await the US if Elon succeeds with DODGE.
