Orwell was a socialist mate, most definitely his books were influenced by the Trotsky a revolution betrayed but nah he wasn't communist in the sense we think about it today.

I think he probably was a communist though, and saw himself as a Trotskyist. He went beyond Trotsky's revolution betrayed (an excellent book) but I was always of the view Trotsky would have moved in a similar direction had he not been murdered.

Like the character in Animal Farm of Major is Lenin, and Snowball is Trotsky, and they are both positive characters.

Orwell is a great writer. In all honesty I doubt Musk knows the first thing about Orwell really.

I don't get the potato though. I pointed out that Israel are committing War Crimes (which he refused to acknowledge) and he started calling me a potato too. I'm sure there's some clever meaning, but I don't know what it means!

Potato in guessing is because it's a staple from Russia, not realising that Russia used to import potatoes from the Ukraine mate.

Just call him a Ukrop, it'll take him a while to realise it means dill as he's not from the region but he may understand eventually.
