Oh, I don't know about that. He's a genius at the skill the market today most rewards: marketing.
This skill does not seem to ship alongside being an intellectual heavyweight. Like with fashion, it requires being in touch with what trendsetters will push en masse for you. Intellect above a certain ceiling seems to be an active disadvantage on that front.

You don't become the wealthiest person in the world without being a genius (of some description) maybe not a genius like huge IQ but he's genius at marketing and envisioning the future , yes you can make a lot of money through blind luck but you wont become the wealthiest.

Also helps to be a sociopath who doesn't mind destroying others and ruining lives to increase his wealth and status.
His craven desire for attention has at least drawn the curtain back on the billionaire class who previously lived mainly in the shadows and all assummed to be brilliant minds of unattainable intellect. His exposing of his lack of knowledge on a vast array of subjects he is willing to see himself as an expert in is very illuminating. The most difficult thing about becoming men like musk and trump is overcoming the moral aspect, that and starting over with a vast wealth and array of contacts in the right place from daddy of course.
Oh for marketing he might as well be a guru, but for what and how he's actually selling you need to have slightly more knowledge than "I've heard of that before" to know he's 99% BSing to the maximum of his ability.

He's great at marketing his or other people's ideas, for sure, but he's not some savant genius fgs. Quoting IQ is, to quote an actual smart person, for losers, and not an adequate measurement of something that is not measurable.

On the contrary I’d argue it’s more likely that successful people are extremely “lucky” than extremely “smart.”
There are plenty of geniuses but that’s not a pathway to the type of success he’s had.
As IQ was quoted, the de facto "smartest man ever" with 400 IQ or something is working in a small design shop or something, despite the alleged intellect.
Almost as if taking a test doesn't measure intelligence accurately, one would say.
I haven't looked at IQ testing for many a year, but even at a 6th form level of study, the inherent cultural bias and flaws of IQ testing were obvious. You may aswell be good at trivial pursuit, it has as much meaning.
