Also, I thought his issue was with Boeing promoting DEI hires. I missed anything about pilots. The issues Boeing has are well documented by anyone who likes to read, although you'll have to read newspapers (ah! libs!) and such.
Boeing has increasingly and irreversibly diversified their supply chain, reducing QC and slowing production. On top of that the 73Max is not actually a 737--FAA approves airplanes by "type" and so modifications require less oversight because they conform to the type. So everything Southwest flies, for instance, are all the same "type" because they only fly 737. But Boeing rushed production of the 73Max and wanted to make it the same type to ease FAA approval but the airplane is fundamentally different from the rest. It's a huge corner cutting issue on both design and oversight, which are major issues to load on top of their production problems.
But of course, it's all a DEI problem because the diamond-minor doesn't see color he only sees merit.
