I assume he is trying to further limit “main-street media” reach and reduce people moving off to other sites rather than stay in his right wing curated “for you” feed.

It may well improve the aesthetics in the same way as a photo looks “cleaner” than a photo plus text.

But it doesn’t mean you don’t also lose a lot of the context and knowledge of what the hell it is referring to.
