We all know the answer to that. He can’t control the narrative if he releases everything as it will likely show it isn’t some left wing conspiracy. He doesn’t seem to have an issue with releasing sensitive data so that can’t be an argument against it.

Occam’s razor would favor the “rich, recently divorced narcissist who has been flirting with right wing politics wanted a medium to bolster his ego and influence discussion” theory rather than a grand conspiracy but whatever the real background I’m sure Putin is happy about the purchase.Worth a read
