Bit of a baptism of fire by Dyche for the lad to give him his first start at the pit so I’m not judging him off this performance as the whole teams been garbage.

My opinion before tonight is that he isn’t a premier league footballer.

What I saw tonight by large was a lad who held it up, fairly decently, but had no service.

Whether it’s a tactic or not, he maybe could have closed down more. He can walk away on knowledge that he’s put a good shift on there and neither goal was his fault.

Drogba looked off the pace in his first season in the prem. This lad has it all and will come good, just needs time and support.

Drogba scored 16 goals in his first season at Chelsea. That sort of ‘off the pace’ is a bit different to what we’ve seen from simms so far.
