The best player they have, and the stick they used to give him, until recently, spoilt brats.
He actually isn't really though is he?

They'd just beaten us in the cup final and I'd written it off as their double. I remember going into communications lock down until confirmation they'd won it right at the end of the game. Turned the radio on and it was 'kin bedlam. I'm running up and down the road punching the air.Remember when Aldridge threw a sh1t-fit at the end and refused to be commisserated by David O'Leary? He had a pure weed on like. I believe Tony Adams ruffled "Aldo's" hair at the end of the game and said something to the effect of "That's for Brian Laws".
I celebrated that Thomas goal almost as much as if it had been an Everton one.
Arsenal support (nowadays anyway) are proper knobs with Kopite-sized chips on their shoulders "Bruv/Blud". But I'll always like them as a team for May 1989.

Ha ha ha. McMahon was the best as @chrissyjack said above. "One minute....ONE MINUTE". GIRUY you cryin' arse Judas.
Yeah the '89 final was without doubt the least invested I could ever get in a final featuring Everton. Circumstances meant it was a non-game for me and many others (although the game itself was frustratingly exciting - Everton that). A weird scenario would have been if Everton had actually won that game. I imagine we'd be painted as the biggest baddies in footy history if so.
In terms of the Arsenal game - I was 12 and having been through the hell of '86 at such a young age meant I was conditioned to seeing them win. So for them to get beat in such dramatic circumstances was frankly brilliant. All credit to that Arsenal side, to go there and get exactly the result they needed was fantastic. Imagine the hysterical internet/media build up to a game like that if it were played now. A collosal task would be made damn-near impossible when Sky/BBC wheeled out the likes of Murphy/Lawrenson/Redknapp/Thompson etc to question the choice of officials etc......Also I dunno if it's true but apparently there were loads of blues applauding the Arsenal team coach when it left Anfield ha ha ha.... Boss that.
