Liverpool are short of players but we're still desperate to sell benteke. Insisting on at least £32m to begin with but accepting far less in the end. The purse strings are being tightened big time. Selling Flanagan when Moreno is acknowledged to be the worst full back in the league in another sign of this.

Benteke has only scored more than 15 goals once, in his first season. Since then his figure have been fairly mediocre.

Liverpool have done ok to get £27m but with wages, signing on fees, market inflation etc it represents a substantial loss.

Yes they've paid a player a years wages who contributed nothing as well as agents fees. One of the better deals of recent years.
