ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Liverpool were capable of some tremendous footall in their prime years to be fair

That's right - all those 1-0 victories....Either scored dead early on or 7 minutes into stoppage time....

"Ohhhhhh - We're gonna jump, down, turn around, pass it back to Clemence, jump, down, turn around, pass it back again....."

No coincidence they haven't won the league since the backpass rule was introduced. :coffee:

I hate Liverpool as much as the next Blue, but it would be churlish to suggest they weren't capable of playing some great football on their day

Against old 3rd division sides, maybe. They could be very good on occasion (Note I said very good, but no better than) but in the main they were dour, a bunch of grinders.

And they were always gettin' decisions their way - that's how they used to win. Tales of pacts with the divvil aren't far off the mark.

Kopite workmate says he used to go and watch them . Some of the most boring matches he's ever been to . Reckons Clemence had more touches of the ball than any other player

You always seem to give the reds far more credit than they deserve in a lot of your posts

I don't think I ever give undeserved credit to Liverpool

If I credit or critique them I always believe it to be justified

If you're doubting my loyalty to Everton, you're barking up the wrong tree

Anyone off here who has met me can attest to my love of everything royal blue

I just believe in calling a spade a spade, whether it be popular or not

Yeah, Mickey, what gives?

I see Mickey has responded, but feel the need to add my tuppence worth, having had the pleasure of meeting him.

If you have read anything he posts, either as a post, or his longer articles, he loves 2 things in life. Everton.

And football.

He is appreciative of any decent togger, no matter who serves it up.

And is a massive blue.

Thanks.
