The Jurgen Klopp appointment has basically meant all of their natural stupidity has been turned into overdrive.
They always were a delusionally optimistic bunch, displaying the classic traits of sociopathic behaviour and inability to honestly reflect the world around them. The appointment of Klopp has taken that behaviour and given it legitimacy. Rather than saying they are going to win the league, they can now actually base it with something approaching a rational argument. "We can win the league because Klopp is a great manager, and great managers can win leagues with inferior squads".
None of that is untrue (not that it would be as articulately referenced as the above) but there have to be limits. Mourinho couldn't win the league with West Brom for example. That's the cold hard reality that they won't accept. Irrespective of the manager their squad is in no way superior to ours. they will try to cover that with the rambling abusive approach of a sociopath, waffle on about the champions league won decades ago (over 1 decade hence the plural) or try and make our their mickey mouse cup win means something. In the end none of them mean anything, their squad is the same as ours and we would never be so stupid as to think we could win the league whoever was the manager.
The other consequence of this behaviour is what's called transference. They are now acknowledging their squad is inferior but they are taking all the delusion and stupidity they spread evenly amongst players and now laying it at the door of Klopp. He is now the living manifestation of their neurotic, spoilt, tantrum like behaviour. It is almost unbearable how they are with Klopp.
At present Klopp has played up to that behaviour. It will start to wither him though. So far under klopps 7 games they have:
Failed to beat 10 men twice.
Failed to beat a side who are getting relegated from the Russian league once.
Beaten the worst side in the league Bournemouth who put a reserve side out. Beaten one of the worst teams in the league Chelsea once. It has been a poor start to his time there. Had we had the same games I'd be very disappointed if we hadn't won 5 of them.
