ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Now we can fully see what Alex Ferguson meant when he said some of Liverpool's signings kept him up at night...they have a shocking history in wasting cash in the transfer market, absolutely awful and they've done it yet again. 20 mill for Lovren? 20 mill for Markovic? 25 mill for Lallana? Are they being serious?

I think it's worth reviewing what Brendan said about transfers just for laughs:

"Tottenham were a team looking to challenge for the league this season. They spent £100-odd million on a group that was set up to challenge".

[On comparisons with Tottenham] "It's a different club and different vision we have here. At Liverpool there's a strategy behind what we are doing."

And my personal favourite:

"[Southampton] have a choice as a club, they don't have to sell. You have a choice. Maybe Southampton's objectives have changed. They were looking to be a Champions League club, I believe. They obviously wanted to change. The guys have come here because of the status of Liverpool and Champions League football".

Oh dear Brendan...Southampton are 11 points ahead with a game in hand. Oops.

It was Rafael who spent £20m on Keane and then realised he was incompatible with Torres.

My memory of Rafael as their manager was someone who could prepare well for European games but had little clue in the Prem.

i.e. a cup manager. he won a league title at valencia didn't he, but over here he had no clue in the league. cups you can win anything with luck, no goaline technology and by drawing. i'd happily see him back tbh. he was managing a napoli team that got battered by swansea

Yep I would be delighted if they got him back. He will spunk another 200m down the pisser and then everyone will be calling for Dawglish once again. Kopites are so predictable

Has Mr Pearldrops come out with the usual "My Players were magnificent as were the fans" and "I could not ask any more of my players" yet?

Listened to Rodger's press conference just now on the radio. He sounded very flat indeed and had none of the usual diversionary stuff, said there were too many mistakes, the team is lacking confidence and it is down to him to try his best to turn it around. He was very honest for once but did sound like a man feeling the pressure.
