God everything about them is just horrendous. Now even the advertising is cringeworthy. I've never liked them but I used to respect them as a club, and I still do for their history, but the way they've behaved over the last few years. Good grief. A club of that size should show more dignity and class. They've all acted like children throwing toys out of the pram.

Joe Cole targets regular Liverpool spot after season on loan at Lille

Joe Cole is determined to become a Liverpool regular after returning from a season-long loan at Lille.

The 30-year-old midfielder struggled to make an impact at Anfield after arriving on a free transfer from Chelsea in the summer of 2010.

Following a positive season in France, Cole feels he has something to prove on his return to Merseyside.

"I don't want to leave Liverpool one day having not been a success here," he told the club's official website.

"I've been a success at West Ham, Chelsea and Lille - I don't want people to be able to say that I haven't here.

"It excited me coming here because I knew what a big club it was with a rich history and I wanted to be part of something. I still do.

"The fire still burns in me to be a part of it. I want to be part of this club moving in the right direction."

Joking aside I've always rated Cole. I would have taken him to the Euro's over Downing any day of the week. Like the fella aswell, despite who he plays for, so in that sense I hope it works out for him.

same, except the last part. he might work under rodgers' new philosophy because he can actually keep the ball on the ground and play. The problem is he'll have an ageing stevie g trying to ping the ball 50 foot up into the sky and 70 yards across the field, just for cole to watch the majority of them to go out for a throw-in.
