Liverpool were better and Madrid were worse then. Liverpool will do well to keep the score down to ten nil over the two legs.

This game is crucial for Liverpool in this group. If they fail to pick a point up they'll be in big trouble. They'll get nothing at the Bernabeu in the return fixture in a couple of weeks, and by that time Basel will probably be a good few points ahead of them and having to face a Madrid team knowing they have the group won and maybe less inclined to go toe to toe with Basel or do Liverpool any favours.

They may do; but unless Madrid have a sending off which equalises things a bit, the gulf in class between these two teams is enormous. Worse case scenario is a draw, imo.
