ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

From what I am seeing Hodgson seems to be getting hammered from all sides, every man and his dog seems to have an opinion on it and very few are blaming Sterling or Rodgers. Not sure on the rules of posting links so I wont bother.

One thing that does seem to be getting lost in all this is that England really have been terrible under him and the last two performances against the level of opposition have been nothing short of shocking.

As for being one of the few that actually wants England to do well I would rather the media concentrated on the important things like England's abysmal performances under Hodgson, rather than some 19 year old kid who complains of being tired.

People are right about one thing Hodgson has played a blinder all right but not for the reasons people are quoting.

Ah well hey. They've won 4 out of 4 since someone retired from international football.....every cloud an all that.

It's staggering how much abuse hodgson gets for signing Poulsen (in general as well tbh). He cost £4m. Which is less than Balotelli, Borini, Allen, Aspas, Markovic, Lovren, sahko, Alberto and illiori yet they think Rodgers is some sort of genius because of Suarez - who was signed by Hodgson.

I love that quote from the subhuman, Suarez:

"Liverpool came so close to winning the Premier League, which would have been spectacular," he said. "I appreciate all the work the team did, but I missed six matches and scored all those goals in the Premier League without being the penalty-taker. I really could leave happy because if I hadn't had the attitude and mentality to lead the team, I don't think Liverpool would have done as well as they did."

Ha Ha Ha. Basically saying he did all he could (and didn't even claim the pens off the in decline pathetic Gerrard) but little old Liverpool were hopeless and couldn't capitalize on his scoring.

What a kick in the bollocks that is for the Kopites who worshipped him. PMSL.

I love the first bit in bold as its implying Liverpool have some revolutionary training methods that nobody knows about and that England are in the dark ages. Dont forget Sturridge was on the bench against us (first game after Germany) came on and played an important role, so how advanced are these sport science methods when it was actually during his training/playing with liverpool that he did the main damage!!

The second bit is interesting considering the fact Sturridge has admitted he asked to play this time round, and funnily enough Hodgson doesnt need the clubs co-operation at all as if they don't turn up they are banned for Liverpool games, even if they are injured.

Two excellent points. I'd like to see Roy really stick the knife in now, but we know he won't , he'll invite Brenda to one of the get togethers to deliver his philosophy on two day rest periods.........

No mate, they didn't worship him. In fact they don't even like to make any reference to him now he's gone and the team has obviously improved...................

Asked during the early stages of his ill-fated six-month spell in charge of the Reds whether there was anywhere quite like Anfield for an atmosphere, he replied “the San Siro and Old Trafford are excellent”.

hahahahaha

how did I miss that? That is superb. Old Roy not falling for their PR stunts like Joe Cole was forced too.

How dare he compare an atmosphere with ours? Ours is the best in the world. Look at us!!

That's vintage RS economics you've described there...economics with the truth of course. The truth will never get in the way of them thinking what they want, massaging falsehoods and myth until they resemble in some way what they prefer as truth. God knows how they have the gall to expect anyone to respect or heed what they say....and that expectation itself on their part adds to their cocky little unreal world.

Basically it all boils down to two average managers shorn of decent attacking options who want to be the only manager to run Sterling into exhaustion for the sake of their own results.

Where the pack of cards falls down is that Sterling is nowhere near as good as they both think he is. He had a good second half of the season laft year but was average for 18 months before that and has gone back to that now. Tiredness in the firdt few weeks of October? Dear me. More just he needs a rest to gwt him out the limelight because he's stinking the gaffe out and can't cope with the expectation lumped on him by two desperate managers.

Another decent player like Sturridge and Countinho who enjoyed a free ride on the Suarez train with the media proclaiming them all world class but are now being found out as they realise only one of them was world class.

Hahaha! Is it wrong that my opinion of Suarez has skyrocketed?
