If a club refuses to release a player or neglects to do so for any reason, the FIFA Players’ Status Committee can request that the club's association declares any match(es) in which the player took part to be considered void and any points gained by the club forfeited. Any match contested according to the cup system can be regarded as having been won by the opposing team, irrespective of the score.

This would be the greatest non Everton related football event I have ever witnessed if something like this was to be imposed on the RS.

I remember watching Basle v the RS in 2002. Loved it when Basle raced into a 3-0 lead, got a bit edgy towards the end mind.

3 – INJURED PLAYERS
In cases where a club does not release their player due to an injury, the association may, through its doctor, require an examination of the player. This examination may take place at the club where the player is registered to avoid impacting the recovery period[4].
FIFA states that in cases where the player does not want to or is unable to attend the call-up for reason other than injury, he is not allowed to play for his club during the release period, or for an additional five days after[5].

Read the small print. That only applies to clubs who are not in league with the devil.

Why not drop him altogether as they did Chris Sutton, leave him out in the cold until the WC qualifiers. When he doesn't get his Subway ad in two years time, let's see how much he believes in Brenda then

hahahahaha seriously, swing and a miss.

Couple of things mate:

1) Pirlo has never been bang average
2) He's always played that deep sitting role, always. He started his youth career as an attacking midfielder but once he broke into the Brescia he side he was dropped back into the holding role to allow Roberto Baggio the freedom.
3) He won numerous titles and cups with AC Milan and was always reffered to has their heart beat, he made them tick. He'd sit there and have people like Seedorf, Amborsini, Gattuso doind all the running and closing down of the defensive partnership.
4) He left AC Milan because he wanted too, it was a mutual decision not to extend his contract
Schooled, well in chris, sorted that mug right out

Sturridge out of the England side I think

If he plays for the RS on the weekend it's disgusting

All clubs should be made to release players for international duty or none at all. No wander our international game is utter crap. Players just don't put their country first any more.

Gerrard would struggle to make a top 10 PL players list of the past decade. He scored the Olympiakos goal, the one in Istanbul and the last minute equaliser against WHU in the cup final. He's never been a player that influences 90 minutes of games and dominates them. An odd few maybe.

Anyone who seriously puts that feller up as a PL best player are quite simply thick.

He scored over 10 goals the two seasons Alonso and Torres were in the team, After that he failed to hit double figures until last season with his 11 pens

Lampard pisses all over the over hyped beaut
