Seems to me that a lot of people wallowing in this grief porn have no connection with Hillsborough whatsoever (apart from being bandwagon-jumping bell-ends). They are quick to tell you what 'they've' been through and sign their totally unrelated scribblings with the fatuous YAWN JFT96 when it has no bearing on the subject at hand, yet they seem to have absolutely nothing to say about other football tragedies such as Bradford. Hypocrites of the highest order.
RS fans no more "deserve" to have anything celebrate than any other set of fans. England owes them nothing; if anything they owe the rest of us an apology for being such unrepentant blame-shifting self-satisfied arrogant tossers.
To clarify - this is a rant about the disingenuous, grief by association Kopites and absolutely is not a rant about those genuinely affected by the loss of anyone at Hillsborough for whom I have every respect.
"what THEY have been through"? Yes, I wouldn't even begin to question what the families of the victims have been through but:
By way of example - I know about 20-30 current day match going Evertonians which is a very small proportion of the match attending numbers and am on nodding terms with a few people and I'm a regular. How can they be "going through" anything like the same as the families? Answer - because they want to feel (loved), part of that awful event... Furthermore it's the incredible wallowing in self-pity that keeps some people going. It ABSOLUTELY is a tragedy and the cover-up no better but, ffs, it's so vicarious to anyone with half a sentient brain - perhaps that's the real problem, the lack of a sentient brain. It really does no one in life any good to allow themselves to be so wrapped up in it all - and I am not talking about the JFT96 Campaign - life is so much easier if you curb the anger.
And, just to clarify, ask yourself, if you are old enough to remember Hillsborough (i.e. you were probably at Villa Park that day, as I was) how many people, of those in your match going circle, do you know well who can also remember back 24 years. I'd say in my case about 2 or 3.
Apologies if this offends, it's not meant to be that - it's meant to criticise those who are vicariously (by association) involved.
