why would they want to handle being a mid table club? thats a bit strange of course there going to have ambitions higher than that given the money they spend. not sure whats so bad about waht theyve done to be honest. ideally we'd have dreams of challenging for a CL place this year (if we didnt have a stingey board) and if so i wouldnt want fellaini/baines to go to arsenal/spurs for whatever price even if they were wipin their arse with our shirt
They're being petulant. There's nothing wrong with having aspirations of being better; however, there is something wrong with sheer delusion.
Their response to the whole saga has been "How dare you do this to the mighty Liverpool!" when, in reality, it's how modern football works and nobody has done anything wrong. A top player is unhappy with finishing 7th repeatedly and wants to move on, and a bigger club has registered an interest.
Liverpool did exactly the same thing when signing Suarez from Ajax. The club didn't want to sell, but eventually did when Liverpool kept coming back in with offers.
