Johnson over Coleman?

Pfft

The rest I don't have much problem with

I honestly think Lucas is absolute tosh.... don't see why they rate him so highly, he offers nothing. Everytime I see him play he is a liability, opposition run past him and he doesn't have the pace to stay with them so gives away countless free kicks....... he's absolutely terrible.

Mignolet

Coleman Jagielka (c) Agger Baines

Mirallas Gibson Fellaini Deulofeu

Sturridge Suarez

Agger only just over Distin. None of their midfield would get in ours now. Gerrard is so far past it it's not even funny.

bullets in the post to the Guardian's Joe Lovejoy:

"Humbled" Uruguay's finest may have been on Saturday, but if he was it was long overdue. Suárez is to loyalty what Eamonn Holmes is to hang-gliding and it beggared belief to hear Liverpool fans cheer him to the echo when he went on for Iago Aspas, the £7.2m summer signing from Celta Vigo, after 62 minutes. This is a man who has been sticking two fingers up at the Kop, metaphorically speaking, all summer, yet he even got a round of applause for one of his trademark visits to the turf.

If Mignolet was so good he wouldn't have been slumming it thus far in his career - I'm not saying he's not a decent keeper but, just because he's signed for The RS doesn't make him a world-beater. It's probably very close but, you know he's just replaced a suspect Reina.

Coleman has come on a whole lot in the past season - Johnson on the other hand has moved dramatically backwards, still contributes with a goal or two but not an automatic choice these days.

Agger is apparently still good so he goes in with Jags.

Baines - not really open to much of an argument

Midfield - our best two are obviously Fellaini, Mirallas. They have Coutinho and Gerrard (providing he's still up for it, we'll see)

Suarez and.. who knows, up front. Our players haven't been firing much so I guess I'd go with Sturridge

So that's 5 each and a toss up for the keeper. We'd obviously say Howard.

And Gibson is far better than Lucas as well.

Gibson is quite blatantly superior to Lucas and I'm surprised any of them would have the nerve to ignore Mirallas. He'd have to go in before Gerrard. When Suarez leaves they really will have to spend well as they're going to be weak.

I'd have taken Johnson over Coleman until recently, but the Irishman is on fire and has to go in ahead of Johnson.

...5 each, but the quality up front is what matters most. Imagine if we'd had suarez last season. They had him and finished 7th.

Correct. And it's a worry. I'm really unconvinced about that lot. Kone obvioulsy has to be given a chance, but I dont see us so far as having addressed convincingly the main problem we had last season. I'd sooner we shipped out one (or even two) of the other three we have now and roll the dice on another forward.

I know it's only 'that lot' which rate lucas, but they do it to such a ludicrous extent that he has to be a contender for most overrated player of all time. I've never seen such a bang average player receive so much praise. he's worse than osman.

THIS ^^^^^^ It's like they have to convince themselves he's good just on the basis that he is Brazillian ha ha

Glen Johnson is lightyears ahead of Seamus Coleman in every single department. Jagielka is also a poor defender, he gets credit for "putting his body on the line" and "getting stuck in", but his positioning and reading of the game are poor. He's just a terrible version of John Terry. Skrtel and even Toure are both better.

Oh dear.
