In the cold light of day, the direct consequence of not playing in the CL sees them playing on a more level playing ground with the teams around them.
They can't afford to spend above their means forever without a sustainable income.
Can't wait for the new " Dear Mr Saurez Jog on video "

rawk where else? said:Sorry mate but why is that not going to happen? We have absolutely no idea who the committee might be targeting and who we will get in. Yeah there is the possibility they wont settle immediately but there is also the possibility that they will do quite well in an emerging and exciting team.
We have a good core group with it looks like the right mentality and the right philosophy. The players and the coach look really hungry to me. To be honest its debatable if having Suarez, who is banned for the first 6 games, coming back to disrupt a team doing well would be a very good idea. If we are not doing well after the first six games and we have sold Suarez, might it work out better if we have say three more quality players in the squad so that we have more options and less reliability on one 'talisman'?
I don't know to be honest, but neither do you or anyone else. But, with the utmost respect, you say these things like they are indisputable facts. I admit maybe I'm a bit more optimistic, but I honestly believe we will do well this season with or without Luis Suarez.
They're fishing in a different pond now. Can't buy ready made CL players, so have to take a punt on fringe players at top clubs and rising stars at smaller clubs who may or may not make the grade, and in truth, they have been doing for a while now.
Combination of dwindling income can't meet wages and players simply not wanting to join them. They are now learning what it is like for everyone else outside the top 4.
It has been inevitable from the moment Man City won the lottery.
I wonder if they would sign Defoe? I wonder if they'd even want him? I wonder if he'd even want to go?
I picture Sturridge and Defoe being a good partnership for some reason, ala Heskey and Owen
Has Defoe got a bit of previous for biting ?
