ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

I wish I shared your optimism, but I really doubt there'll be five teams capabale of mounting a title challenge.

I don't think we'll be one of them, I should hasten to add (More's the pity)

Spurs and Arsenal would be the outsiders but I think any of Chelsea, City or United can win it

If Spurs and Arsenal make some big siginings and hold one to their decent players, I think they could be in with a shout

Would certainly help teams like us if those 5 teams were all locked in a competitive title campaign. Would give us a chance to nick some points and get in mix for Europe places

SSN: "We asked people close to Suarez negotiations between Arsenal & Liverpool 'could he join Arsenal?' They said 1 word: "maybe" #AFC

SSN: Suarez's advisers have told us that player wants to play in Champions League. Willing to staying in England. #AFC opening bid was £35m.

kopite's will be foaming at the mouth.

transfer request is defo coming now

35 million is a lot of money.

I mean I know they always have lots of money and they always waste it, but still.

I'm not even sure who'd they buy right now to replace him. They'd be better off saving it until there league fortunes improved

Wenger finally spending the money. He must have felt that his job was actually in jeapordy. Maybe he was waiting for Ferguson to retire?

He will have no excuses if Arsenal don't win something now

I've said three things consistently about Suarez:

A) He'll screw Liverpool over - it was just a matter of time.

B) They'll get nowhere near the £40m they think they will for him.

C) A "top" club with a barrel of prestige like Barcelona, Real Madrid etc. will not touch him with a barge pole.

Therefore, to see him the subject of a £30m bid from Arsenal is of zero surprise, and there's no doubt in my mind that he'll leap at the chance to go there.

Hi Tubey.

They're turning on th goofy one; stats are already appearing showing they had a better win ratio with out him last season.

A couple of lads posted a comment on facebook which read something like 'You'll wak alone you horrible ****; you'll be like Torres and fail'. They were not happy when I replied with 'by fail, do you mean winning the FA Cup, Europa League and Champions League??'

Really can't wait to see him back at Anfield next year if he goes to Arsenal. Has the potential to be carnage. He thrives in that sort of atmosphere too. The more livid they are, the more likely he is to score and be a [Poor language removed] about it while he's at it. Family sized container of butterkist for that. Just do the right thing for once and hand in that transfer request, Luis!

Luis Suarez says he will consider all offers to leave Liverpool as he wants to compete at the highest possible level.

The Uruguay international has expressed a desire to leave Anfield after becoming disillusioned with life in England.

He has been linked with Arsenal and Chelsea, but Spanish giants Real Madrid are considered to the frontrunners in the race for his signature.

"This club needs to fight to enter the Champions League and, when it doesn't happen, it damages the morale of any player. So I've suffered."
Luis Suarez
Liverpool are reluctant to let the unsettled striker leave, with boss Brendan Rodgers in 'constant communication' with the South American, but Suarez has reiterated that he will push for a move if he can further his career elsewhere.

He said: "If I receive an important offer to progress my career, I will study it. Some clubs have asked about me but I hand questions over to my agent. I am no stranger to rumours.

"I always want to improve. That's why I left Ajax for Liverpool.

"But this club needs to fight to enter the Champions League and, when it doesn't happen, it damages the morale of any player. So I've suffered.

"It is hard to view the Premier League every week with never a chance of winning it.

"On top of that, the English media do not understand me. The controversies with (Patrice) Evra and (Branislav) Ivanovic were decisive. There are always extra questions when people analyse me.

"After the Evra incident, it was very difficult to convince people about the 'real' Luis Suarez. Things had improved but then the incident involving Ivanovic was another blow.

"Had that not happened, perhaps I would have been regarded as the best Premier League player last season."

I love the way he says that playing for Liverpool as 'a suffering'.

I'm starting to see what the RS saw in him. Wonderful bloke.
