The homegrown isnt a problem, it just means they can only have 17 foreign players.

No I do think he count as homegrown because he joined Liverpool in 2010, but because of a lack of work permit he didnt join them before 2012.
Anyway i mentioned 11 other players(12 + Johnson), that must be more than enough homegrown players.
I thought he had been playing for their youth team for a few years. Certainly remember them going on about him for a while!
