He form may have dipped in the past 2 seasons but he still is a quality keeper and certainly an upgrade over Valdes for Barca. Plus his distribution skills are second to none
This is why i'm surprised the rs are selling him, when he on form, he like a 5th defender.

i still can't believe WHU are paying that cart horse 100k a week. He's not a terrible footballer and may become quite good, but he'll never be that good imo and has had a few injury problems already considering his age. if you pay that much for a striker, you at least expect them to be a goalscorer surely?

doesn't surprise me liverpool paid him, i genuinly thought that was the case, because going from the vibes it seemed it wasn't too interested in going back to start with. i don't reckon there was any interest from newcastle either, wouldn't surprise me if liverpool paid them a little but just to make sure they went along with it

Don't particularly like or dislike Carroll to be honest but if you give him the right service he will score you goals..... I hace said that since he first Left Newcastle and my view hasn't changed. If he played as a centre forward for us he would bang in 20+ goals a season getting on the end of Baines' crosses.

do i watch a different reina to you? i watched a game near the end of the season, may well have been the derby actually and at least 5 times he put the ball into the stands trying to find a full back

Not sure he is better than Valdes, but he is far better than Pinto and it makes sense to give him a season of football before Valdes leaves. I would be amazed if its £10 million for Reina though, Lopez is of that class and age and he went for £3 million. Plus Brendan has - with this signing - just told everyone he wants to sell him.

Yeah that's a bit of a gamble. People could just say, here's 5 mill or feel free to pay two top class goalies for a season without Europe.

I am sorry Lopez isn't in the same class as Reina...Reina has been just behind Casillas in the Spanish pecking order, and even though his record in the last two seasons was less than stellar, he and Cech were the two best keepers in the PL prior to that. 10m isn't a high valuation at all. An unproved De Gea went for 17m

It must be summer again.. The green is much in evidence around Anfield and the latest manager to throw money at the problem is buying up this year's answer to Borini, Allen and co. £20M lost on Andy Cartoll is a good start on spending the season ticket income.

Fair play to the board over there for the way they support their manager financially, spent a fair bit this summer already (acknowledged on second rate players) but still its money spent, can't remember the last time we spent big money without selling first or it being obvious that by the end of the transfer window we would sell.

Lopez just replaced Casillas in the RM side for the last third of the season and you honestly couldnt tell the difference.

Also De Gea went for what he did because he is very young and very good - United could easily not have to buy another first choice keeper for another ten years. He had also played quite a bit of football for Atletico, including an entire Europa League campaign.

Agreed, Lopez is a very good keeper - better than last seasons Reina.
