I notice that balloon head Aldridge didn't mention anything about Hillsborough chants and muderer chants in his Echo columns today.

Funny that, he was 'shocked' just two days ago. He gets over his traumatic experiences very quickly doesn't he?

He got over the actual Hillsborough disaster with indecent haste judging by his antics in the rearranged fixture...

This is legit, honest:

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers eyes up Premier League title

BRENDAN RODGERS is eying up the Premier League title next season - and hopes Sir Alex Ferguson's departure as Manchester United boss may provide the perfect helping hand.

Ferguson has won the league 13 times in his 27-year reign at Old Trafford, ensuring United have now lifted 20 titles compared to Liverpool's 18.

But with Ferguson out of the picture and Everton boss David Moyes taking over, there is a sense there may be a dip in the Red Devils' success.

Rodgers wants to ensure that if there is, Liverpool will be waiting to take advantage.

"It [United] has been a machine which has been working for over 25 years," said the Reds boss.

"Sir Alex has really put his identity on the club and that has led to success. It will take David time to go in and assess everything but it is a club as stable as any in the world and it is ready-made for him.

"I can only think of Liverpool - I've a big enough job here to get us moving on but I think next year we can do that.

"My focus is to try to close the gap. We are bridging that gap slowly this year but hopefully we will take a bigger stride next year.

"But the reality is very simple: we are 30 points behind the leaders and 12 points behind fourth place so we have a lot of work to do here.

"We know it is a long road but we don't like being second-best and being behind.

"We don't start the season aiming to finish fourth. The aim is always to win the title."

Liverpool travel to Craven Cottage to take on Fulham on Sunday.

i'm sorry lads, he can't be serious. He surely knows that their fans will lap up all of this **** all the time and that's why he says it, surely?

He does strike me as a bit ego-tistical, but he does seem to constantly say the right words to appeal to their deluded fanbase. I wouldn't be shocked in the slightest if he came out and the end of his tenure and say he's shown them to be the mugs they are

They've gone from being 37 points behind the leaders to 30 points behind the leaders. So on current form they should catch Liverpool in four years.

Well in Brenda

Of course they are going to win the league next season now that there will be no more 'Fergie time', FA (Fergie association), Fergie friendly referees, Fergie controlled media etc.. This is there biggest chance since they have ,

The best goalie in the world

A tremendous back 4 that any club would want

the most creative midfield 3 of Gerrard, Allen and Lucas that Barcelona will be in for this summer

and the galacticos front 3 of Suarez, Borini and Sturridge that Real will be knocking on the door for

throw in the mix the next Pele, Coutino 'Messi' Downing, and what's the name of that young lad that is going to be better than Keagan/Daglish begins with an S I think.

Anyway I've told the missus that I'm going to put the house on them winning the title next season. How ungrateful of her she's called the men in white coats.

I'd like to take this opportunity to say lol.

All that money spent all them brave words and this being your year and for two consecutive seasons you've finished behind skint Everton. Pipe down kopites.
