Not because he wasn’t good enough, but because the club and their fans had made it clear that the pecking order is Salah Van Dijk Allison and then maybe Mane, he’d even been moved to accommodate Dias by the end. There’s no logical reason why they’d worship a showpony centreback over him, or why they over worship Salah when Mane is just as consistent but that’s what they did.

He knows full well that if Bayern win the CL and he’s hitting 20 a season he’s one of the favourites for the ballon Dor, that was never the case at Liverpool. He was right to get out of there.

I rememeber an African journalist getting the usual death threats on social media in the early part of the summer when Mane was leaving who suggested that the Klub didn't value sub-Saharan Africans and that there was a hint of colonialism about the way LFC had gone about dealing with Mane.

Whatever the merits of that argument they defo didn't value him in the way they should have.
