ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

How about all the high-profile journalists, British and from other countries, who were there and have said the same thing too?
So that base is covered isn’t it, that information is clearly going to get through in the investigation.

What about the information of attacks by Liverpool fans and if them bunking in and climbing fences. All of which is corroborated by foreign media sources.

We've created our own problems for decades. Numerous so called comedians and some really good ones from this city have made a good living on the reputation we've created as being "lovable rogues" stealing, pilfering, conning, bunking into football matches etc. In the 60s and 70s it was seen to be fun and the whole country laughed at it. But then when other comedians started using the same material about scousers doing this and doing that, you couldn't switch radio Merseyside or City on for phone ins with people complaining about our stereotypical image. Probably the same people who were laughing and joking about it years earlier calling it all a bit of harmless fun. A lot of people from this city have got massive chips on their shoulders.

Mate, I've never trusted any journalist in my life be they left, right or centre, file them all in the same bracket as lawyer's and politicians, they will say or write the narrative their editors want them to. They thrive on sensationalism.

this would make for an explosive Ale House thread:

Do scousers deserve their shady rep?

with public poll lol

one for @chicoazul
It's the 'scouse' thing. A lot of the crap dealt out by the r/s comes from 'non scouse'. There's a level of 'grafting' that goes on everywhere, 'scousers' in my experience, relied on opportunism and guile, not railroading. That comes with numbers, and numbers is what the r/s have, as witnessed on Sunday when 500k descended on a city of 450k, a minimum half of which are Evertonians.
I have highlighted numerous times on these boards and to people outside of the city, these libpewl fans are not representative of the people or 'scousers', a term I despise, despite being one.
Their 'scouseness' is diluted to the point of non existence so they exaggerate what they have left and play up and act out all the stereotypes from Carla Lane, Bleasedale and Russell.
Their extremely unfunny 'witty banners' to the new phenomenon of belting out worshipful Beatles tunes they're are desperate to be representative of something that doesn't exist.
As for us, we get dragged along with it, and because we're not in league with devil and his media minions we get all the crap with none of the 'glory'.
We need to break the tie of them and this city, which is why the new stadium pisses them off, it's us, on the skyline, and we become prominent.

The English reaction to the French police is that it was OTT, but that's how policing in that country is, the estimated numbers of rs going over there varies from 60 to 100k, that means there were large amounts without tickets, now you cram 5000 extra into a space that's for 20,000 and you can see why panic set in
English fans have a reputation based on past history and that precedes them on their travels, add in that that lot are allowed to get away with a lot of crap and it's a recipe for trouble

People were on edge because the night before a load of blue had been ambushed outside a bar and done in.

On the day Plain clothed police predominantly in black went in to the square and grabbed a lad and started dragging him away, problem was that they had no ID’ing features on them nor did they explain they were police.

Some blues thought it was similar to the night before and started having a go back.

The police then got out their red bands (which afaik they’re meant to wear at all times) after they were being attacked and called for back up.

Then the tear gas came to disperse the evertonians so they could get to the plain clothed fellas who were huddled in a doorway.
That was at the Australian bar ( the night before)
