The police, UEFA, and the relevant authorities completely cocked up, and have lied about it.
Liverpool should have ensured their fans were better organised before the match and explicitly told people not to turn up with fake tickets - and those that did have to take their share of the blame.
Liverpool and their machine denied every contributing factor of theirs from the off, despite evidence to the contrary. Bunking in, forged tickets, rushing turnstiles, inviting ticketless fans, all evidenced before the game, actually causing the delay.UEFA changed their story in the space of 90 minutes.
The French government have used figures that, as that thread - by a Leicester fan, as it says in his bio - goes to show, are either greatly exaggerated or impossible to have verified without everything being checked off independently.
Oh I know, it’s not prettyBut they do don't they.
Not just football fans but many holidaymakers.
In my part of France the British on holiday have a reputation for drinking too much and complaining if things are not quite the same as in good old blighty
At a uefa event at the stadium no. It’s 0% alcohol . Fan parks i wouldn’t knowCan anyone tell me if beer was avaiilable once you got through the cordon, inside or out of the ground?

I was in Turkey and a woman complained at a buffet there wasn't bacon. She was irate and causing a real commotion. "You're in a Muslim country you daft b..."
If we repsected cultures as much as some here demand others respect ours, the world and their lives would be a much happier place.
ThisReputation finally preceding them - only taken a few years. Sadly, we all get tarnished with the same brush.
They give you stick, if you push it back at them, they say - I was joking mate, I thought you scousers were supposed to have a sense of humour. We've created our own problems for decades. Numerous so called comedians and some really good ones from this city have made a good living on the reputation we've created as being "lovable rogues" stealing, pilfering, conning, bunking into football matches etc. In the 60s and 70s it was seen to be fun and the whole country laughed at it. But then when other comedians started using the same material about scousers doing this and doing that, you couldn't switch radio Merseyside or City on for phone ins with people complaining about our stereotypical image. Probably the same people who were laughing and joking about it years earlier calling it all a bit of harmless fun. A lot of people ...in the rest of the country(from this city) have got massive chips on Their shoulders too
The French aren't backing down.
also good post. It's the 'scouse' thing. A lot of the crap dealt out by the r/s comes from 'non scouse'. There's a level of 'grafting' that goes on everywhere, 'scousers' in my experience, relied on opportunism and guile, not railroading. That comes with numbers, and numbers is what the r/s have, as witnessed on Sunday when 500k descended on a city of 450k, a minimum half of which are Evertonians.
I have highlighted numerous times on these boards and to people outside of the city, these libpewl fans are not representative of the people or 'scousers', a term I despise, despite being one.
Their 'scouseness' is diluted to the point of non existence so they exaggerate what they have left and play up and act out all the stereotypes from Carla Lane, Bleasedale and Russell.
Their extremely unfunny 'witty banners' to the new phenomenon of belting out worshipful Beatles tunes they're are desperate to be representative of something that doesn't exist.
As for us, we get dragged along with it, and because we're not in league with devil and his media minions we get all the crap with none of the 'glory'.
We need to break the tie of them and this city, which is why the new stadium pisses them off, it's us, on the skyline, and we become prominent.
Hmm so that throws some doubt on the account that:s been posted on here a couple of times now; the one of the family man who was at the game and loads of bunkers in ended up standing on their seats. He was saying they were all coked up and had stream after stream of pints coming to them and they got progressively bladdered. At a uefa event at the stadium no. It’s 0% alcohol . Spot on. They’re the football equivalent of the spoiled kid who’s parents never told them ‘no’ enough. When forced to face the realities of life once in a while, they are totally unconditioned for it, and they go into meltdown, rolling around on the floor having a tantrum. The media have a lot to answer for as well. Not for covering this up, as they’ve covered past indiscretions up, that’s certainly a problem but perhaps not the main contributor.
They’ve spoken about Liverpool and it’s fans like they are this all conquering ‘special team’ 24/7 365 days a year. If you watch any game of football even when they’re not involved then Sky BT or the BBC are invariably still making it all about them. If they’d re involved then it’s starting coverage early to listen to YNWA. Every player they have is the best in the world maybe ever in their position, their manager is the best maybe ever, their stadium is the best, their fans are the best. Kids are being brought up on a diet that they are this mythical special team and everything always goes their way. Sadly the PL have kowtowed to that and now referees have ensured that the games they should have lost this season largely haven’t happened.
It all just results in those moments of humility that happen to every fanbase every year not happening to them. So when they lose a final against a team that every single bit of media they’ll have seen assured them that they would routinely beat by a lot of goals, they’re just completely unprepared to handle it. A lot of these fans won’t have seen their team lose a game live for 5 years thanks to the ridiculous match manipulation that occurs at Anfield in the prem. they’re not used to so much as a throw in being given against them.
So when they do finally lose, it’s just too much to handle, their egos and sense of self importance have been inflated to such a point that they can’t rationalise ‘maybe we got outdone by a team with more experience and more individual quality with a manager who is more tactically flexible, and the luck we had in the two domestic cup finals wasn’t there tonight’. No, they see it as some sort of affront, there must he something wrong, someone must have to pay for this, and then they take that anger out wherever they are.
The English media need to sort themselves out because their acting as LFC fan channels is embarrassing and has caused a lot of the mess we’re now seeing.
The ban on alcohol was done away with in 2018.Hmm so that throws some doubt on the account that:s been posted on here a couple of times now; the one of the family man who was at the game and loads of bunkers in ended up standing on their seats.
