ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

I'm sure some were locked out with legal tickets...

UEFA's initial claim was that fans turned up late to the game with fake tickets. This was proven to be a lie, because the issues started 2 hours before KO.
When the police started identifying fake tickets early on they had to start checking futher from the turnstiles to ensure there wouldn't be problems inside the stadium. Pictures clearly show that the RS end was over full during the match. Who should the locked out fans with legitimate tickets blame? UEFA or their compatriots who either bunked in or took their seats with counterfeit tickets?

I'm going down on.the Thursday, trying my best to avoid all that! Yes, im not too pleased with his new one ha. Im hoping he 0lays a few from "As you were"
Don't mind the direction of it, think it's a tad crap! Ah well be a good day. Yep, travelling down to London on Thursday, but apparently they've cancelled all the trains to/from Knebworth station because of the Jubilee weekend (not sure that makes sense) - so let's see the travel chaos!

Telling their manager to pipe the fcuk down and not invite everyone over as there's loads of room in Paris would have been a start Toff.

That's where issues start, no self management, no awareness of how people are that unhinged they take his word literally and think its OK.

They were given 19.5k tickets. Non need for other 30/40k knobheads to go over as it just causes issues upon issues upon issues. I told my mate to sell his ticket a couple of weeks beforehand and he asked me why. I told him that one inch of trouble and the police would wade in and they wouldn't need a 2nd Invitation. They're not my club, not my final but you know a bit of common sense needs to be used as they've got form for wading in without needing much to set then off. So I knew that there could be kick offs, so why didn't the other 3pk who went be sensible and think the same? Or the manager just pre warn them, or a statement from the club telling fans not to travel?

So common sense says, go if you've got a ticket but if you haven't don't bother as it's just not worth the risk. That's what their gobshite of a manager should have said as the leader of their cult.
Absolutely

….there should be an acceptance that blag tickets and fans jumping turnstiles were factors. The evidence seems indisputable, we’ve seen on here fans boasting how they got in without tickets, we’ve seen blag tickets for sale. I personally spoke with a fan who got to his seat to find it already occupied.

Surely the issue is whether the response of the French police was proportionate and whether the stadium organisation added to the problems.
With regards the police heavy-handed approach which was so evident, I posted French police hate Brits shocker.

Was in response to Liverpool's statement, which was during the game - they still changed their story while the game was ongoing/had just finished. That's not right.
Fair enough - I just think it's potentially dangerous to announce over tannoy that ticketless fans are forcing their way in. I can understand sticking with one narrative during the match - after all, it's reasonable to delay the match a little because fans with genuine tickets are still filtering in very slowly.

To change narrative at that stage shows UEFA didn't handle it well - but that "lie" hardly absolves all other parties, or demonstrates some kind of conspiracy.

How do we know the exact numbers? We don't...

UEFA and the French authorities went straight to 'blame the fans/British'. When their disorganisation was clearly a big part of the problem.

I'm not saying Liverpool fans were blameless.
Certainly not. Thousands of them were there at the behest of Klopp, overwhelming the facilities and obstructing the access of fans with genuine tickets.
If the rest had stayed away from the stadium there would have been no problem.

The heavy handed approach will have everything to do with the very same stadium being subjected to a terrorist attack in recent times.

Also their heavy handed approach could actually stop a disaster waiting to happen. We saw what happened when they did nothing, loads of supporters streaming through gates.

Everyone hates Brits. There is probably a reason for that.
