ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

And again, what was the security and stewarding like at those matches? Was there more on - this all has to come out in the wash.

The stewarding is on UEFA. I do find it insane that they had that few stewards on that initial check point.

I also fully agree that Liverpool fans need to realise this problem does only happen with them, as much as they claim it doesn't. I still think the onus is on authorities not to lie (like UEFA did initially) and be better organised.
How do you know it is a lie if you were not even there? Fair enough you have a different opinion to many on here which is fine. But at the end of the day you know as much as the rest of us which is just second hand accounts no?

Telling their manager to pipe the fcuk down and not invite everyone over as there's loads of room in Paris would have been a start Toff.

That's where issues start, no self management, no awareness of how people are that unhinged they take his word literally and think its OK.

They were given 19.5k tickets. No need for another 30/40k knobheads to go over as it just causes issues upon issues upon issues. I told my mate to sell his ticket a couple of weeks beforehand and he asked me why. I told him that one inch of trouble and the police would wade in and they wouldn't need a 2nd Invitation. They're not my club, not my final but you know a bit of common sense needs to be used as they've got form for wading in without needing much to set then off. So I knew that there could be kick offs, so why didn't the other 30k who went be sensible and think the same? Or the manager just pre warn them, or a statement from the club telling fans not to travel?

So common sense says, go if you've got a ticket but if you haven't don't bother as it's just not worth the risk. That's what their gobshite of a manager should have said as the leader of their cult.
but but but I stayed home and watched at the ground when my mates all bunked in in Athens, im not missin out this time.

the entitlement, forget who you harm to get in just get in. itll be alright my da and uncle said standing was great back in there day so theres loadsa room in the seated areas if everyone gets up. were all standin and singin anyway was a great laugh.

etc.

Jurgy ha ha

OK, Own up...who was it ha ha

Why all the fake tickets?
Apart from they are all rs...even the meagre nearly 6000 with an L postcode.
Because the makers know that can sell them
Because the buyers know that as it gets nearer to KO, the more people turn up, the more chance there is of waving a half decent copy and being waved through.

Now I don't know what the turnstiles even look like in Paris.
But I do know what they look like at the Gabba (42,000) and Lang Park, nee SunCorp (52,000)
It's done on QR code thing, either printed out or on your phone.
They're supposed to scan them.
I had my phone in my hand and a QR thing on my screen, I got waved through at 10 mins to KO.
Trouble was, in the bright light I had the Gabba QR thing for The 1st day of the Ashes, not the SunCorp QR thing for The All Blacks.

Sometimes it's (inadvertently) just that easy

Both the rs hordes  And the forgers know it

Been said before - any problems at the Madrid end???
No??
How strange.

Don't mind the direction of it, think it's a tad crap! Ah well be a good day. Yep, travelling down to London on Thursday, but apparently they've cancelled all the trains to/from Knebworth station because of the Jubilee weekend (not sure that makes sense) - so let's see the travel chaos!
Blame the chinese interior minister?

I mean the people I work with who were there in a professional capacity - and I've seen their videos and pictures, and they're United fans btw - have described that it was utter chaos.

One of them got there at 5pm to ensure he was early, one of them got there at 6:30 as they'd been doing stuff in both fan parks. The one who got there at 6:30 managed to just avoid the worst of it, but was there at the turnstiles (inside the ground) when it started kicking off.

UEFA did lie. Liverpool need to take responsibility. The French government needs to stop having its police force act like they operate martial law.

Perfect storm really. 1000,s of rs buying fake tickets and to steal the seats off genuine fans resulting in chaos at the gates. Local thugs intent on either bunking in with them or robbing them blind. A heavy handed, inept police presence which caused more panic. All in all a recipe for disaster. The vast majority of the blame goes to the thoughtless rs fans with fake/no tickets.

Not quite sure I'd say vast majority but certainly it's enough to be called out.

It'll keep happening otherwise... What would it take for the club to simply be like "UEFA and the French police have handled this situation terribly causing a lot of distress to Liverpool fans, the necessary inquests will be made and those responsible will be held accountable. However, we strongly advise that any fan without a ticket should not try to access or even go near the stadium, and for those fans with tickets to be very wary of potential fakes"???

Fair enough - I just think it's potentially dangerous to announce over tannoy that ticketless fans are forcing their way in. I can understand sticking with one narrative during the match - after all, it's reasonable to delay the match a little because fans with genuine tickets are still filtering in very slowly.

To change narrative at that stage shows UEFA didn't handle it well - but that "lie" hardly absolves all other parties, or demonstrates some kind of conspiracy.
i can fully understand and justify not inciting a panic.
i really can.

Certainly not. Thousands of them were there at the behest of Klopp, overwhelming the facilities and obstructing the access of fans with genuine tickets.
If the rest had stayed away from the stadium there would have been no problem.
I think this too and it's where the club need to take more responsibility.

But look at the statement I've shared from Rangers - UEFA's organisation of these events has been shambolic. From venue choices to stewarding, to communication with both clubs and fan groups etc and police. It all needs to improve.

So as I say second hand accounts then.

Feel free to post your colleague's videos and accounts on here if you like, or are you not allowed to because they are top secret?

The heavy handed approach will have everything to do with the very same stadium being subjected to a terrorist attack in recent times.

Also their heavy handed approach could actually stop a disaster waiting to happen. We saw what happened when they did nothing, loads of supporters streaming through gates.

Everyone hates Brits. There is probably a reason for that.
True, although one clip one clip I saw this morning was of fans queuing in an orderly fashion passing through the turnstile. As one early twenties lad on his own who you could see had not said a dicky bird all the time he was in the line, scanned his ticket and the gates let him in, one of the fully kitted up thugs in uniform discharged a blast of spray right into his face from about two foot away. Absolutely no need whatsoever.
