ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

I always just skip articles and head straight for the comments. They never fail to disappoint. We can add shirt sponsors to list of excuses now.

"Agreed. Changing shirt sponsor, training ground, and centre-backs every other game hasn't helped"

Shirt sponsor....mind blowing

Murphy wants the RS players to miss internationals so theyre ready for next season.

He also wants Haaland lol

They really haven't got a clue have they? Why would anyone want to play for Klopp when they have a chance to play for Pep? It's not a difficult choice.

I'll stick something out there- the recovery for both is not going as well as planned. I remmeber in January Klopp almst intiating VVD coud be back sooner, and even by March. Lots of videos of him running, leaked stories to posh boy Pearce about how well he was coming along etc. Now we get this, that months out, neither will be ready. Looks like both have had set backs to me.

Just a point to add as well, if you can discount them for a tournament in June/July, it's unlikely they will make the start of next season, at the very least.

as a United fan i shed no tears for Liverpool but surely they should have strengthen last summer when they were strong , they have had dad luck with defenders but everybody as injuries , thje only team capable of overcoming this are abu dhabi , this is the new reality
Rubbish!

Every team has the opportunity to name a squad of 25 - level playing field.

I'll call you out on finances. How much did Foden cost, for starters?

You conveniently forget that there was a time when ManUre was able to spend stupid money on players, and did so. And were winning titles as a result. Now that your neighbours are doiong the same thing. you're crying your backside off on here at every opportunity you get.

So, accept that fact that Man City have bought wisely when they have spent money - De Bruyne, the Chelsea 'reject'; Aguero, whom no one had heard of prior to going to them. Just two examples - there are more.

You're sounding more and more like a whingeing Kopite on here. Give it up...

If all teams done what Danny says there would be no Euro's, not like a Liverpool fan to be selfish is it. Pathetic from that little Orc Murphy.

Uniteds core during their dominant years was home grown to be fair.

Beckham, Giggs, Scholes, Neville etc

What United did was clearly more impressive than what City have done or are doing. Dont really see how anyone can argue otherwise in good faith.

Let's ignore Schmeichel, van Nistelrooy, Ronaldo, Solskaer (sp), Stam, van Persie and a whole host of others, then...

Both teams signed lots of players, City spent far more in a shorter space of time though so they lose on that front as well. United spent big but the core of their team was home grown, they added to that core with big signings. City never developed a core of homegrown players, they went out and spent big straight away then started winning things. There was nothing organic about it.

United deserve respect for what they did, to have that many top players come through your academy and play a huge role in your club dominating for a decade or so is obviously far more impressive than what city have done.

i don’t see how anyone can argue otherwise

You say a squad of 25 is a level playing field so have Sheffield United or West Brom got a level playing field in quality of player , that is a ridiculous thing to say , yes we did spend a lot when we were winning most of it self generated , the thing about city and their abu dhabi wealth is they can spend 400 milion on defenders in 3 season , no club i Europe can do that , so its not about whingeing its about the reality

So what if they do. You lot used to cherry pick players years ago ie Rooney. The amount of money paid for players today is only relevant to the amount of money in the game. Clubs like yours, Liverpool, the Real Madrid’s, Barcelonas don’t like it when other clubs are doing what they did years ago- buy success. To me there is not much difference to what City are doing as to what Salford are doing at a much lower level, again buying success.
