ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

The Premier League plans to have fans in grounds at the final two rounds of matches this season, says chief executive Richard Masters.

Up to 10,000 supporters will be allowed into stadiums from Monday, 17 May provided the government is able to stick to its scheduled roadmap.
To maintain a competitive balance and ensure all 20 clubs get to play a home game with fans present, a round of fixtures will be shifted to 18-20 May.

WTF? "Maintain competitive balance"...when that 'kin lot had games at home when neither City or United had them before December.

So did we.

But that said, in all the things that are important, virus related, the PL running to get fans in for 2 matches is just not worth the hassle. Let the normal summer sports be used for the trial runs, and hopefully we can have a normalish season next time.

And they are total gobshites. (back on topic)

Got to agree with this. It’s an open invitation for the virus again, just forget it and enjoy next season with full stadiums hopefully

Kopite 'journalist' Barney Ronay's latest puff piece on the RS in the Guardian. Worth a read just for the cringey comments.

Ha Ha Ha Ha.

Utter bunkum from start to finish.

I'm not even going to try to dismantle that - I wouldn't know where to start. Even Kopites will be blushing over the volume of excuses and nonsensical praise.

That is defo Exhibit A in any trial of the medias infatuation with the Establishment Club.

We were never title contenders.

as a United fan i shed no tears for Liverpool but surely they should have strengthen last summer when they were strong , they have had dad luck with defenders but everybody as injuries , thje only team capable of overcoming this are abu dhabi , this is the new reality

Yes & they (liverpool) should not be exonerated either, they should have called match off or at least been more aggressive in questioning it.

But what gov have managed to do, dividing and blaming locally / elsewhere is simply criminal - they screwed up, they leads to 10's of thousands of excess deaths and they are getting away with it because they are getting the vaccine right.
Not one minister has been made accountable for their handling of the pandemic. The decision to allow this match and the Cheltenham festival to go ahead was negligence of the highest order. It’s as though tens of thousands of lives lost in addition hundreds of thousands of jobs, has been forgotten because of this vaccine. I read that the Tories are still ahead of labour in the opinion polls. It really makes you wonder how this government has managed to brainwash people to such an extent.
