ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

If Spurs beat them it might be panic stations for FSG. Lampard going has changed the complexion. If Tuchel comes in and they start winning and moving up towards the top 4 then someone’s dropping out. What looked like a certainty a month ago (top 4 place at least but most likely top 2) now looks under serious threat. Can they afford to miss out on CL qualification? Would they have budgeted for it?

The Liverpool FC national promotional pamphlet (alias Daily Telegraph Sport) provided a front page devoted to Klopp whinging about why they lost. Then two full pages on the Liverpool game. The rest of the 4th round matches were then covered in bits and pieces of reports over the next few pages.
That rabid Liverpool supporter, reporter Chris Bascombe, didn't get the Liverpool game. That went to Jason Burt, chief football correspondent. Bascombe got the Everton game! However, he did get the consolation of being able to get some 'digs' in. eg Headline: 'Everton's reunited front three spark fresh hope of first trophy in 26 years'.
Continues in same vein.............The end of Everton's 5 year wait to reach the 5th round.......an easy win over a young Sheffield Wednesday side. etc., etc.,

I said earlier in this thread this morning to keep an eye on who played full strength and who didn't (and specifically mentioned Henderson and Matip). Klopp clearly had Tottenham in mind rather than that game today. United were the team looking to play and work hard and put themselves on the line.

That game today was enough for me to draw the conclusion that Solkksjaer doesn't have the ambition to win the title. It was a good time to send out a much changed team against a Liverpool team out of sorts and looking to leave the cup aside. It tells me that Solksjaer is pretty clueless and a bit desperate to win a piece of silverware - any silverware. Liverpool just want the title. Klopp will jettison everything from their schedule that gives them a workload they cant possibly cope with.

I mean, OGS made 5 changes to the team that played midweek.

Liverpool made 3 changes from the team that faced united a week earlier. And you are saying klopp didnt want to win?

Is it not just an indication that Man United squad depth is better as they can make 5 changes and still have what looks like a first 11 out.

If anything Liverpool threw the league game against Burnley with the squad they put out there rather than the cup game.

I was hearing last week how the press had pages allocated ready for the result after the league game between Utd and Liverpool, that turned into the biggest none event of the year, haha they must be gutted.
To keep them relevant is going to be all about off field buisness now.

I think its pretty obvious that Mourinho will be targeting Liverpools CB who played last night next to Firminho.

Can see Kane and Son having a field day on the counter against them.

Hoping for a draw :)

Not just for bias, but objectively I want Spurs to win. Liverpool are stronger than Spurs and even if Spurs win, they are likely to drop points as Mourinho focusses on European competition and the cups. A Liverpool loss could see an implosion. If they end up spiralling down the league it's a massive bonus for us, as none of us predicted it.

I think Tuchel may take a bit of time to turn Chelsea around. They may be a competitor next season.

FSG, like all business owners, will want to protect their public image. Seeing ‘borderline negligent’ being attributed to them a few months after they delivered the first title in 30 years will probably not sit well. It’s a huge overreaction from what has become a mouthpiece for the cult. If FSG move to a sell to buy model the fan base is really really not going to take it well.
The red echo have taken sides, know who buys their rag, who clicks on the clickbait
And it aint FSG.
They can't lose really, FSG keep the tap turned off - its Booooo FSG.
They spend a bit and its...our pressure helped

The lack of self-awareness from this specimen is amazing. Apparently this season is a "freak season", and obviously last season was completely normal, nothing to see here. And also according to this genius this is the first-ever PL season where every team has displayed some inconsistency

They rested up Henderson, Matip and used Mane as a second half sub. They played two useless kids in Williams and Jones.
