ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

It's Tuesday, 4 days since the assault at goodison park and Liverpool fans are still in mourning at the disgraceful scenes where a footballer got injured.

Whilst most people have settled back into the working week, Liverpool fans are still thinking of how they can make this right, who can make the best sign to hang in their window to show support during lockdown. They've all ripped down their nhs rainbow posters and replaced them with support messages for van dijk as he faces a tough time ahead on just the £1,200,000 he will collect every month during this tough period of a few months.

As a slight aside, if Van Dijk is injured they are left as a squad with;

The best Goalkeeper in the world
The best 2 fullbacks in the world
The best goalkeeper in the world
The next best centre back in the league (GOmez)
Another world class CB Matip

The best player in the league last season (Henderson)
The best midfielder in the world- Thiago (I'm putting names to avoid confusion, as some do overlap)
The other best player in the PL- Naby Keita (who can ever forget when he was going to have proven himself the leagues best player within a month of arrival)
The best defensive midfielder in the world

The best front 3 in the world

The best Manager in the world

Yet they sit as close to 14th placed Crystal Palace as they do to "crap" Everton and have been knocked out of the league cup. It doesn't really add up does it?
It adds up just fine if you have an extra finger on each hand you brute.

lollollol

Seriously though you can see why referees would give marginal calls to Liverpool and Man Utd. You have 50-50 decision. You give it one way it and discussed for 3 minutes after the game. You give it the other way and death threats, media storm whole week, suicidal thoughts and the wife leaving you because she can’t live like this.

This is what worries me now, watch them get even more marginal decisions than usual.

On a par with Sol Campbell. Who, to be fair, was top notch for a couple of seasons.

The funny thing is mate, when Van Dijk was at Celtic he was a good player. At Southampton, again a good player but we never had all this media hype, journo's creaming their kecks over him. He moves to the RS and is literally hailed as world class and the best centre - half in world footy.

Sky probably making a documentary about his “ Journey back to Fitness “ right now .
Made to walk alone after the horror tackle, left to read his obituaries and tributes to his greatness from Oslo to Kuala Lumpar, watch and marvel at one man's journey to being the daddy once again.

"I said to myself, I will be back. I made myself a promise. A Sean promise!"

'The greatest documentary I've ever seen.' - Danny Murphy, BBC.

"My husband who is even a Man Utd fan also was upset and I haven't stopped crying since." 606 caller, Norfolk.

"I slept through the whole thing." Michael Shields.

Assume you've done the right thing and ended the friendship?

I just keep him around for the fun factor Bungle. lol If I'm feeling in a wind up mood a phone call to him and a few chosen words about the RS has me in tears of laughter as he literally froths at the mouth. My missus has a pop at me when I do it because it always ends with him slamming the phone down on me, she then worries if he's going to be okay. lol
