ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

The problem was more letting the Atletico fans come over and walk around the city for 2-3 days. If the second leg was in Spain it would have been postponed or played behind closed doors.

Our inept government are to blame for that game and Cheltenham because they wanted herd immunity and didn't realise how serious the situation was until it was far too late.

It's reprehensible that the game went ahead. I would imagine though that there would be a sufficient grey area in determining who had ultimate responsibility, and indirect liability.

The RS can point to UEFA, the Government, and probably the local health authority as well and just say they received no direction to play behind closed doors.

What is brutally exposed however is the RS' absolute disregard for the safety of their own fans, sorry customers, and the wider community.

But its always someone elses fault.
As per my previous post, those other organisations can all point at Liverpool FC and ask them why they didn't follow the lead of other European clubs by requesting / insisting their tie would not be played.

We all KNOW why they didn't: they wanted that tie played and wrapped up.

Hello mate :bye:

Atalanta v Valencia described as a biological bomb....that's a description that has to be applied to Liverpool v Atletico. A pandemic had been declared earlier that day, and those murdering tools allowed it to go ahead "with hand wash available outside the ground". City v Arsenal already called off that night. Liverpool programme that night, though, had almost nothing to inform about the virus or its dangers.

That meeting 2 days before the game between LCC, LFC, Merseyside Police and supporters group Spirit of Shankly is, to ay the least, interesting:

LCC - "We have no power to stop it".
LFC - "We're following all the guidelines".

That's a couple of statements washing their hands of responsibility right there, especially when games elsewhere were already being called off or played behind closed doors.

I've been struck how the government and their medical advisers have never really denied the possibility of that event as a super-spreader, which strikes me that they know they have other organisations who can take the blame with them: UEFA, the city council and the two clubs involved.

All because they wanted anuvver speshul anfeeeeld nite.

What about the 49k Liverpool fans who turned up to the game as well Jimmy L?

Liverpool's fan group all wanted that too...I get the feeling that lot like to be seen going through the motions of being a proper 'union'. Theylre utter BS artists, as befits a club like that.

"Were you concerned about the match going ahead"

Spirit of Manson: "yes, mate"

"I suppose you avoided the Atletico game, then?"

Spirit of Manson: "Nah, we went and were diving all over each other".

It's like when Hicks and Gillette lost control of the club. Spirit of Shankly were patting themselves on the back for ousting them because they made a few statements and someone made a video of jarg fans slagging them off with Barry Grant on his boat in Greece.

Truth is the two Americans just ran out of money.

This is a group who sung Munich songs on stage at one of their AGM's.

I remember my RS mate showing me that video a few years ago all made up with it laughing his head off.

Same fella nearly has a fit if anyone dares to mention Heysel....
