You'd be mad to award the race to a horse that's got form for bottling really big leads in the past and has a jockey on it who's lost 90% of every big race he's been involved in despite looking fairly decent in minor events.

You'd also have to take into consideration the horse has whacked 4 of the last 5 jumps really hard and there's still a quarter of the race to go.

There are countless examples of a horse being miles ahead and then falling at the last! Annie Power at Cheltenham springs to mind!

In that case, you'd say they're a cert to win, albeit contentiously.

You'd also have to take into consideration the horse has whacked 4 of the last 5 jumps really hard and there's still a quarter of the race to go.

This is true. However, the length of lead is unprecedented in horse-racing history.

If said horse could afford to fall, have a short nap, get up and stroll the rest of the way and still win, then that may be something the BHA takes into consideration in it's ruling, whatever that may be.

Perhaps it would be possible to start the race again at a later date with the horses in the same positions (or given head starts in proportion to their lead at the time).

they’re the best team in the league by a distance and almost certainly wouldn’t have been caught and I know I’m repeating myself but almost certainly doesn’t really butter any parsnips. They hadn’t won the league , just like Devon loch hadn't won or herol Graham didn’t make it to the scorecards . It’s not over until you win and they didn’t win , I find it baffling that anyone struggles to understand it to be honest .

would they have won ? Almost certainly they would have . did they deserve to ? Yes absolutely. Have they ? No . If it’s decided that they can have it then of course they’ll be awarded it and maybe they can have a very bestest ever participation certificate as well.

A mathematically unresolved league cannot simultaneously be over (for those at the top) and be not over (for those at the bottom). That would be madness. Reality would collapse.

people only said that because VAR and the referees practically rendered the season null and void from the moment the first ball was kicked and legitimate goals were being chalked off against Liverpool left right and centre whilst phantom penalties was their top scorer. The whole thing being cancelled would be a suitable end to the biggest rigged sporting event anyone had ever seen.
