ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Nonsense. Most of the blues I know blame our knuckle headed owners, managers and players mostly.

Never heard a rs fan talk about Heysel. The shame of British football is what the rs are.
Exactly. We dont wear rose tinted glsses about our clubs inadequacies on and off the pitch. Christ Almighty, the forum rips them to bits often enough. It was our zenith..swinging on the top of our "perch".. and through no fault of our own, we were denied the opportunity to advance on Europe because of the abomination of Heysel. Everyone acknowledges that.. er well nearly.

Inappropriate Behaviour
We should avoid the subject of Heysel though. It has become the biggest excuse in the History of Football. We have let a succession of owners, managers and players get away scot free from their inadequacies and instead blamed Heysel.

Quite rightly they were banned for longer than the rest of English team but it didn't stop them in their tracks the way it has stopped us. We have been stuck in a rut since the mid 80's. Potentially our finest hour was snatched away from us because of the European ban but it is no excuse for the chronic mismanagement that has occurred since then.

Instead of taking a good hard look at ourselves and the way the club has been run we look for the easy way out and blame them for 30 odd years of failure. Until we stop taking the easy way out and stop blaming Heysel we will never move forward. Maybe if we put more energy into driving our club forward instead of attacking their lot then we might finally move forward.

Yeah, keep dodging it you absolute strap-on.

Yeah, keep dodging it you absolute strap-on.

Please explain what positives bringing up Heysel has ever produced for Everton Football Club. None whatsoever. It is just an excuse for when we fail. It is just a weapon to use against the rs. It is so counter productive it is untrue.

If we were winning trophies and they were struggling it wouldn't be brought up. So why don't we just let it go and get back to being the best Football Club we can be and forget them. At the end of this season it will be 35 years since Heysel. How many generations do we carry this on for.

They win things we bring up Heysel. Why don't we look forward and look at what we can achieve and not what some of their scum bag fans did decades ago.

Do you mean like that?

No injuries ever, no bad refereeing decisions ever, keepers throwing the ball in the net most games, opposition missing simple chances every game. Would be funny if it was 2 or 3 games in a row but it’s been a season and a half.

Ederson injured tonight.

And so it continues.

So mane admits to being a fiver, openly says he looks to go down whenever there's contact....
In a sane world refs would stop giving him pens...
But this is the RS so now I'm expecting one a game

If I recall correctly it was one extra season. When they then qualified for Europe the BBC followed them live in every round and actually called the programmes 'Liverpool in Europe'. No wonder they don't think that they did anything wrong.

Liverpool in Europe

BBC One London, 18 September 1991 19.00

Synopsis
Edit
Liverpool v
Kuusysi Lahti
Live coverage from Anfield of Liverpool Football Club's much-awaited return to European competition, six years after the disaster at Heysel. Tonight they take on Kuusysi Lahti of Finland in a UEFA Cup first round tie. Manager Graeme Souness , who won three European Cup winner's medals as a player at Liverpool, has now to emulate the feats of past managers Bill Shankly , Bob Paisley and Joe Fagan. He has already invested millions in international players of the calibre of Dean Saunders , Mark Wright and Mark Walters in the hope that their experience with the Wales and England teams can be put to good use. Kuusysi were Finnish champions in 1989 and 1990, and the team enjoyed a memorable run to the European Cup quarter-finals in 1988. Liverpool's last success in Europe was when they beat Roma on penalties seven years ago to win the European Cup for the fourth time. They have won the UEFA Cup twice before, in 1973 and 1976. Introduced by Desmond Lynam , with commentary by John Motson and Trevor Brooking.

Last season it was 10 points (or possibly more) in January. He had the same centre back.
They lost 1 game BUT also lost the League.

Let's wait and see. It's what rational people do.

It was actually 7 points as city had a game in hand at 10 like. City had to break every record going just to scrape it in the end, that’s what they are up against, deffo rational thought is wait and see, there’s far more of the season to play then it was last season, RS have also a nightmare fixture pile up in Dec, hence fingers crossed the gobshites falter enough at some point there.

What an absolute Kop out of a reply. And yes, I use that term deliberately.

Liverpool FC should never be allowed to forget the fact that their supporters killed people at a football match. Especially their current generation of fans, who if people like you had their way, would have had the entire episode wiped from the history books as if it never happened.

Whether they win things or not is immaterial. The claim that the incident is only brought up when they win things is utterly incorrect and contemptible.

Are you new to Everton? We blame everything on ourselves. Nothing we do is good enough, no player, manager, owner, board member, fan, club official, kit man is ever good enough.
