ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

That is only true if there are no fans for a whole season and players do not agree to a pay cut.

Well not really. It would have to be a year, so most of next season, which seems to be the general estimates.

Either way, the point is more to show that while all clubs will suffer, they will not all suffer in a consistent and linear manner. Certain clubs will suffer disproportionately and Liverpool are at the top of that list.

The less likely it will be that the season is voided, the more they crawl out of the woodwork.

I suspect the opposite actually. The more likely it is they dont win the league, the more they struggle to with hold their anger.

I have an optimistic world view of them, than if they were going to win the league, they wouldn't be on here. I know that may be a but ambitious and simply they have some sort of life, but that's what logic tells me.

I usually agree with much of what you post, but not on this. If they were going to win the league, past performance would suggest they'll be on here in droves to either gloat or to reveal themselves for what we've suspected they've been all along. If the league does get voided and no title awarded, you'll hear nothing but crickets from our resident lurkers.

It's just coincidence. I'm enjoying the explanation of how bad Everton's financial situation is by contrasting it to the rs. I haven't seen this level if pedantry over technicalities on transfer fees and amortization since a previous poster was asked to leave the premises.

I'll be watching this one with high expectations.

I wonder if he also knows about the world of security? Just curious, I hear Aldo needs a good contact for his next big event

Their wage bill is 58% of turnover ours is 85%.

Why would they need to sell a player to make ends meet when they have made a profit of £167m over the last two accounting periods. Over that period we have made a loss of £125m.

As usual, you are completely ignoring reality.

Then why were YOU furloughing YOUR low paid staff ? If YOUR so profitable and YOU like to call YOURSELVES a Socialist club ?

@H.H.

Conservatively speaking Farhad Moshiri is worth around $2.5billion. Bearing in mind he is an accountant with dealings in Russia and publically made $300mil sincr the last public statements (as I posted this year he will make a lot more due to his USM investments in tech and other sectors which have skyrocketed) i suspect the figure by the end of this year (the REAL figure) will be at least double that amount.

Usmanov has north of $14.5billion. He is on record as saying he will "help my close friend" and also "join my friend if he invites me" to be part of the club.

You call it "money laundering". There are far easier ways to launder money than throwing money into a football club.

Usmanov made an offer to Kroenke to buy him out of Arsenal for £1billion.

When Moshiri came in he wanted to spend £60mil on Koulibaly + huge amounts on other top players whose clubs wouldnt sell. It is on record that he calls Brands and Kenwright in the middle of the night to ask if they should sign XYZ superstar...

Moshiri has also green lit a new stadium and bought buildings in the city...its not only the football club hes investing in. This is more of a legacy project which he is happy to fund...and seems to be VERY excitable and keen to spend huge amounts to succeed.

I expect that if FFP was off the table then he would give Ancelotti / Brands a relatively open chequebook.

Lets face it, for a massive project such as this endeavour, and with transfer fees decreasing and their own wealth increasing it is the perfect time for him to spend serious money.

Spurs on the other hand are run as a tight ship under Levy (fantastic negotiator) while Liverpool are run by Americans to be a revenue generating business as an asset which is part of their fund portfolio.

If you combine Moshiri and Usmanov's REAL weath we would be talking circa $20billion.

5% of that amount for a 'vanity project' is $1billion.

Weve got sponsorship deals and pre naming rights options sold to USM for huge money (relatively speaking).

Do you seriously think Everton would be in trouble with £120mil down on accounts + £15mil losses next season ?

Do you think two multi billionaires dont see this as a massive opportunity or actually think they will be worrying about 0.5% of their wealth ?

Thats less than they make in interest and less than they have already made during the virus.

All of this is true. I'll add a couple more points. The USM stable are said to have increased wealth by £7bn in recent weeks. In essence they can buy and store oil, or be paid huge amounts of money to store oil, as they will have the infastructure to sit on it. They will wait it out and sell it on when prices recover. The Russian state may well be actively paying them to store it.

We know the estimated wealth of the 3 is much lower than their actual wealth (widely reported in Forbes etc). I don't know how deep it goes, and I doubt many people will never know how deep it goes.

The big point in this, is that if they were really bothered about making a return quickly, they can't turn that Richarlinson bid down. They go to the table, round it up to £100m+ and sell to resolve the books. The fact they chose not to again says to me, they are quite prepared for the longer game.

I have suspicions of what it may be. However they will not be massively concerned about the club losing money that they can fix.

I mean Chelsea owe 1 billion. If thats called in they go must immediately. It wont be though, so they are fine.

This thread seems a tad infested with [Phrase removed] at the moment. Haven't they got anything better to do with their time like rifling through their sisters underwear?
Same tactics it seems. Bigging up the RS net spend etc. Any chance of some new "covert" tactics by them?

I do love the net spent argument. In last years books they have £100m + on extra expenses. Lots of this will be agents fees. They spend tens of millions every year on agents fees, but funnily enough thats never calculated in their net spend. It's all just window dressing to keep the cult happy.

It isn't that simple. Transfer fees are amortized over the length of players contracts. So we are going to have to continue to service those amortization payments for the next few years at the very least. That will be with reduced income.

As for owners putting money in. They are only allowed to put in certain amounts without breaching FFP.

We have got away with it so far. However, there are a few problems on the horizon. Firstly City are producing a dossier outlining how other Clubs have breached the rules surrounding owners putting in money. The other is that it is going to look bang on if everyone else sees their commercial revenue decline whilst our goes up.
