ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

The idea that Bundesliga is the measuring stick is just daft.

Germany are miles ahead in terms of controlling this virus and they are still have deaths under 100 latest figures.

Closed doors football is easy to do but it's the impact on life which is the entire point and end of argument for Football to commence until we have contained it.

Christ look at the images outside a B&Q from the weekend, do you think the UK public will not congrate to support their football club outside a ground?

France, Spain and Italy will call time on their leagues before Germany because of the sheer number of daily deaths plus the thought of a 2nd wave would destroy the economy

If/When the League is Voided, it won't be until the middle of May when a player/staff has contacted Corona and shutting down again.

300 people is the estimate.

I found out today off a lower league manager that they’re desperate for the league to be voided as the cost of behind closed doors is ridiculous.

These are one of the smallest league clubs around, literally a couple of thousand through the gate yet the police bill they’ve been told they will have to pay just to ensure no fans come near a behind closed doors game would close them down. I don’t think people are even factoring in things like this when thinking of numbers present.

Behind closed doors isn’t even an option outside the PL and Championship.

They will restart it (they are pretty determined to do that - that much we know for sure). Play the number of games Liverpool need to get the 6 points then void the season with them as Champions. What happens to the relegation spots is anyone's guess? But that isn't their primary objective or overriding concern. Making sure the money continues to come in and the gravy train continues to roll is.
They can then say that Liverpool did WIN the title and it's all above board with no asterisks.
If a small number of people catch the virus and die whilst they are doing it - hey so what? It's mission accomplished.
As another poster on here said previously, they will then dedicate the title to the NHS, Covid victims, Captain Tom, Vera Lynn
and uncle Tom Cobley and all in another megafest of 'It's all about us' promotional campaign which will be wholly supported and
amplified by a sycophantic, fawning, cap doffing media.
A more misanthropical, cynical, greedy, manipulative group of organisations you couldn't wish to get.
They actually do deserve each other.

Please explain .... and I’m honestly not trying to be a knob about it.... how is it easy to play behind doors football during the current climate we are living in ? I truly don’t understand how it could go ahead.

It's been very public that the players association (whatever they are called) have been fighting against pay cuts for the players. The likes of Townsend have been in the media fighting against it.

Unless all players have done it secretly and the press have not had the story at all then it's unlikely the players have been paying anyone out of their own pocket.

Plus giving the money to charity is neither here nor there. It's about the club's laying off the non playing staff that has been very public that the players don't want to do that. Seems it's slowly changing now but that's a little late.
Do you give money to charity? If you do, do you tell anybody or do you keep it to yourself? Do you give money to family or friends to help them out of a bad situation? If you do, do you tell anybody or do you keep it to yourself? The only reason this is in the news is because that is what the media do, they think of a story and they big it up whether it has any truth attached to it or not.
The PFA are right to fight against pay cuts to players because that is what the players pay them to do (they are the players' union after all) but they can't tell the players what to do with their own money.

Chuck enough money at it and they'll do it. Not easy but I'd imagine they would:

Split off the team's into hotels near stadium
Test at the hotel IF everyone passes
Bus to the stadium
Play the game.

Split additional staff/media/officials from teams
Report to drive-in testing Station IF ok go to stadium (you would still requires a lot of stand by staff)

You are looking at 200/300 staff per event which is complete stupid and dangerous but you'll have plenty of volunteers to fill non essential roles.

I am not a fan but they will be using what German do but even they are not entirely sure if they will go ahead.
