I do like the thought of that, but honestly believe he'd have walked there from Madrid or wherever he's living: Liverpool fans love him, team in Champions League, obviously would have been handed hundreds of millions to spend.I reckon Alonso knows how lucky he was to escape from the cult when he played.
He was probably offered the job and thought f*** that
He would've been a gamble for Us...except obvs we would never take it.Wouldn't go mad about Iraola.
He's done a decent job at Bournemouth, no doubt, but that amounts to squeaking into Europe with a very low points bar needed this season. Similarly OK points total last season, no huge improvement.
They were knocked out early on in both cups so only played 40 games. Not much better the season before.
Will be a very, very different scale when he's expected to win constantly, playing twice a week.
Still spending time with his family (with a smug 'told you I was right' look on his ugly face)! Is uncle fester back yet ??
But will he play the kids?A few high profile names there, some would be a great fit for the club and are currently out of work View attachment 355436
We clearly need to start a counterinsurgency/ deep fake campaign or whatever it’s called “ Oh no . Stevie G’s on the shortlist and available, let’s hope they don’t appoint him as their next manager he could start a dynasty that’ll last 20 yearsA few high profile names there, some would be a great fit for the club and are currently out of work View attachment 355436
100%A possible lesson for us.
Why shouldn’t LFC make it all about them?
It is a entertainment business and on the day 2 of their main rivals are in the show piece season finale they make a move.
Last Sunday the eyes of the football world were on us. By luck we had joint top billing in one of the 2 games that the world was talking about and wanted to watch.
Never mind should Spurs or Wham go down why don’t we steal the show. Put on a performance that people will notice. Get new fans. Get the media talking about us next season. Drum up interest.
What happened. A display so turgid and uninspiring that apart from a few outlets wondering if Wham could sue us..nothing.
We blew it. Sad thing is I don’t think many Evertonians saw the opportunity.
Come August don’t complain when Sky are talking all month of them, and Manure with their new manager, and City and Chelsea’s rebuild. Oh and can Arsenal do it again, plus Villa and Newcastle and all the exciting new Europe clubs.
The media know that a Moyes’s team will get about 48/50 points. Everton fans will be happy we aren’t in a relegation battle and don’t expect much else. Then move on.
We need to start making it a lot more about us rather than complain other teams make it about them.
Iraola wins them the title.
